Visualized History of Orbital Rocket Launches

My friends and I made an interactive visualization showing all of the orbital rocket launches and launch sites from 1957 to 2015. It turns out that it's not only interesting to watch; it's also kind of mesmerizing. It's all about spaceflight history, so I wanted to share it here:

Let me know if you have any questions, corrections, or suggestions!

1) Would like to see a control to "step through" in addition to the Slow, Medium and Fast Speeds. Reason: there are periods where there are a large number of launches that using the slow is not slow enough.
2) Would like to see a counter added in the lower right to see total accumulative launches for major launch sites with Red (failed) and Green (Success) numbers.
3) (if #2 is not possible), for each launch site "dot" on the map could grow in size as launches take place to indicate accumulative number per launch site.
4) (if #2 or #3 not possible) when hovering over a launch site, in addition to providing the site name, also provide a pie chart with total launches for site with subtotals for failed (Red) and Success (Green).
Great tool. Yes, it's mesmerizing. Your site is a similar one I saw for atomic bomb testing but was provided as a video.
