You asked for a thread in the Space Science Coverage forum? Here it is.
So it launched successfully I presume. Has there been any further news on it? All news I've seen just speak about it's launch and Russia's desire to return.Hoping for the best, but Russia hasn't had great luck beyond LEO for some time.
Let's see if they make it. Reportedly, the head of Roscosmos said the chance of a successful landing is 70%. They don't have a good track record

They don't have a good track recordIf they made it past lunar injection that's further than Phobos-Grunt got. Barring some hardware problems en route (like another cosmic ray shorting out a chip), the next hurdle is seeing if they can enter lunar orbit. I'll genuinely be impressed.
Meanwhile, Luna 25 left Earth orbit an hour after launch, and is expected to reach lunar orbit on August 16, about 5.5 days after launch. The previous tentative landing date of Luna 25 was August 23, but after the launch, Yuri Borisov, the head of Roscosmos, announced that the lunar lander is expected to land on the Moon's south pole on August 21.

Any update on the 1st correction burn ??
🔴 "Luna-25" corrected the trajectory of the flight to the natural satellite of the Earth.Today, the automatic station carried out the first correction of the trajectory of the flight to the Moon. The propulsion system of Luna-25 turned on at 16:00 Moscow time and worked for 46 seconds.
Curious how India and Russia might be landing in same region, granted there's still a 110km gap. The last time two landers on the Moon got the close it involved Surveyor and Apollo.
SVOBODNY /Amur Region/, August 12. /TASS/. The first orbit correction of the Luna-24 mission to the Earth’s natural satellite was carried out on Saturday, Roscosmos told reporters."Today the Luna-25 automatic probe, made in the Lavochkin Research and Production Association (incorporated into the State Space Corporation Roscosmos), carried out the first correction of the flight trajectory to the natural satellite of the Earth," the Russian space agency said.Roscosmos added that the propulsion system turned on at 4:00 p.m. Moscow time to operate for 46 seconds. The Soyuz-2.1b launch vehicle with the Luna-25 automatic probe blasted off from the Vostochny Cosmodrome on August 11 at 2:10 a.m. Moscow time. On August 16, the apparatus is to enter the near-lunar orbit, and on August 21 it is expected to make a soft touchdown on the Moon. The main task of Luna-25 will be to test soft landing technology. The mission may become the first apparatus to land at the South Pole of the Earth's natural satellite. The lander will study the internal structure and exploration of natural resources, including water, as well as investigate the impact of cosmic rays and electromagnetic radiation on the surface of the Moon.Several cameras are mounted on the craft. They will capture a timelapse of the landing, an HDR panorama of the Earth's natural satellite and settling dust for its subsequent study. Luna-25 will conduct pre-programmed surveys, as well as take images of the Moon on command from Earth.
Russia's moon craft starts processing first data - space agencyMOSCOW, Aug 13 (Reuters) - Russia on Sunday switched on the scientific instruments aboard its lunar lander and scientists began processing its first data as the space craft sped towards the moon in a bid to be first to find ice on the Earth's only natural satellite. The Russian Luna-25 mission, the first since 1976, is racing against India, which launched its Chandrayaan-3 lunar lander last month, to complete a soft landing on the moon's south pole where scientists believe there are pockets of water ice.
🔴 On the Russian automatic station flying to the Moon, the first switching on of scientific instruments was carried outLuna-25 continues its flight to the natural satellite of the Earth - all systems of the automatic station are working normally, communication with it is stable, and the energy balance is positive.Today, the first switching on of the complex of scientific equipment developed by IKI RAS (https://t.me/mediaiki) was carried out in space flight conditions. Service telemetric information from all devices showed their regular functioning. The first measurement data on the flight to the Moon have been received, and the project's scientific team has begun processing them.#infographics_rk #Luna25 #MissionLuna25
🔴 "Luna-25" corrected the trajectory of the flight to the Earth's natural satellite for the second timeToday, the automatic station carried out the second correction of the trajectory of the flight to the Moon. The propulsion system of the station turned on at 06:40 Moscow time and worked for 24.3 seconds. All Luna-25 systems are functioning normally, communication with the station is stable!
The resolution on the cameras is only 512x512? (that was what the images were on the official Telegram post). That would be underwhelming, to say the least.
