CE-6 now being touted for 2020 and a south polar target.  The rim of Shackleton crater is suggested, probably just for a simulation rather than serious site planning at this stage.

It seems unlikely Chang'e 6 will land in the permanently shadowed regions, since they use the rim of the Shackleton as an example mission. Hopefully the mission after that will land there.

Chang'e-7 will be launched in 2023, then Chang'e-6 in 2024
Chang'e-6 is a backup of Chang'e-5, it will be landed on the pole of moon
Chang'e-7 is a polar environment and resource prospector(a prospector/rover which will be developed with a 8 years mission design life)

Thanks very much Lsquirrel for the translations. Strange they don't show Chang'e 5 in that graph.

Before the Chang'E 5 launch date can be specified we need to have the third flight of the CZ-5 to be successful, whenever that will be.   The Chinese seem to be very quiet about what is happening with and when we can expect the third CZ-5 launch ...........

On the Chinese launch schedule, it says that Shijian 20 (the payload for the third Long March 5 flight) has been delayed to ?? from this year’s second quarter. I’m guessing it’s still because of the first stage’s YF-77 engines? They were the cause of the second mission’s failure in July 2017, which was two years ago.

Launch thread for Chang'e-6...

China aims to launch Chang'e-6 lunar probe around 2024.

China aims to launch the Chang'e-6 probe to collect samples in the South Pole-Aitken Basin on the far side of the moon around 2024, said a space expert on Saturday.

This data relay craft appears to be more focused on the subsequent Chang'e-7 (also South lunar pole landing mission), but the timeline given is the same as for Chang'e-6 (2024). This "Queqiao-2" is probably planned to take over relay duties from the original Queqiao.

Notably, NOT Russia (and YES Europe), in spite of the increasingly-farcical ILRS MoMs.
