Jul 11, 2025
This week in space traffic, we saw a relatively quiet launch schedule—but not a quiet orbit! SpaceX launched another 28 Starlink satellites, while the ISS received fresh supplies via Russia’s Progress MS-31. Over at Tiangong, Tianzhou-8 departed after 8 months in orbit.

🛰 This Week:
Falcon 9 launches Starlink Group 10-28 from SLC-40, Florida
Progress MS-31 docks to ISS with fuel, water, and supplies
Tianzhou-8 undocks from China’s space station after 8 months

🚀 Coming Up Next Week:
Tianzhou-9 launching to Tiangong around July 14
Multiple Falcon 9 launches, including a Project Kuiper mission and possibly DH-ROR-1
Eris rocket test flight from Australia
Axiom-4 crew return aboard Dragon Grace on July 14

Join Ryan Caton for a full rundown of all the movement in orbit and what to watch next week in spaceflight.

How Starliner’s Failures Led To This NASA Mission | SpaceX Crew-11 - July 12, 2025

Quote
Jul 12, 2025
We explore the details of NASA's Crew-11 mission - the next crew rotation to the International Space Station (ISS). Sawyer sits down with NASA astronauts Zena Cardman, Mike Fincke, and JAXA's Kimiya Yui. Hear their personal stories, training experiences, and what they’re most excited about as they prepare to journey to the Space Station.

Cardman was originally assigned to NASA's SpaceX Crew-9, however when that mission had to free up 2 seats to bring home Butch Wilmore and Suni Williams following the Starliner fiasco, she was bumped in favor of Nick Hague.

Fincke has been instrumental in the development of the commercial crew program, and especially Starliner. He was the backup for the Starliner Crew Flight Test, and was at one time scheduled to fly on Starliner-1. Also - which Endeavour is the best Endeavour?

Why is SpaceX launching Jeff Bezos' Satellites? - July 15, 2025

Quote
Jul 15, 2025
Why is SpaceX launching Amazon’s Project Kuiper satellites when they’re direct competitors? In this video, we dive into the surprising collaboration between Elon Musk’s SpaceX and Jeff Bezos’ Amazon as 24 Kuiper satellites prepare to take flight on a Falcon 9 rocket. Despite competing in the satellite internet race with Starlink, SpaceX has a history of launching rival constellations like OneWeb and SES. Is this a strategic move, or is the market big enough for everyone? We also uncover why Amazon initially snubbed SpaceX for 92 launches with ULA, Arianespace, and Blue Origin, only to backtrack after a shareholder lawsuit. With a tight deadline to deploy 1,618 Kuiper satellites by July 2026, can Amazon meet the challenge?

LOAD ROCKET PARTS - Possible Starship Salvage Operation? - July 18,2025

Quote
Jul 18, 2025  #SpaceX #Starship #salvage
The construction and salvage ship LB Jill appeared on the Port of Brownsville’s manifest, explicitly stating “To Load Rocket Parts 1 M/T,” strongly suggesting salvage operations of rocket debris from previous Starship flights. The vessel has been maintaining position near an area where rocket debris from a previous launch may have drifted due to ocean currents... Booster 13 from Starship Flight 6 seems like a strong candidate for this operation. Catch up on what we know in this quick video.

Why The FAA Just SCRUBBED SpaceX’s Launch - July 22, 2025

Quote
Jul 22, 2025  VANDENBERG SPACE FORCE BASE
SpaceX's latest launch attempt at Vandenberg Space Force Base was scrubbed at T-45 seconds due to "FAA airspace concerns." The NASA TRACERS mission, aimed at studying solar wind and Earth's magnetosphere, was halted not by a stray plane or boat, but by a regional power outage disrupting the Los Angeles Air Route Traffic Control Center. This left SpaceX unable to confirm a clear launch corridor. Join Ryan, as we dive into what happened and why.

Crew-11 has landed at Kennedy Space Center’s Shuttle Landing Facility, gearing up for their Thursday launch to the ISS at 16:09 UTC. Arriving five days early, astronauts Oleg Platonov, Kimiya Yui, Mike Fincke, and Zena Cardman are in pre-flight quarantine, conducting a dry dress rehearsal and final preparations. Why is Fincke on Dragon instead of Starliner, and why is Cardman the last of her class to fly? Boeing’s Starliner delays hold the answers.

Jul 28, 2025
Three heavily damaged Raptor engines have just been delivered to SpaceX’s McGregor test site — and we’ve got questions. Are they from the wreckage of Booster 13? Or maybe from the recent explosion of Ship 36?

NSF’s Sawyer Rosenstein investigates this strange development.  Could these engines offer clues into Starship’s recent failures? Or are they just headed to the scrapyard?

Join us as we break down the evidence, compare images, and dig into SpaceX’s possible motives. Don’t forget to like, subscribe, and share your theory in the comments.

Why Australia's First Orbital Rocket Lasted 15 Seconds | Gilmour Space Eris Flight 1 - July 30, 2025

Quote
ul 30, 2025  #GilmourSpace #ErisRocket #AustralianSpace
Australia’s first homegrown orbital rocket, Gilmour Space’s Eris, launched from Bowen Orbital Spaceport but didn’t reach orbit due to an engine failure seconds after liftoff. Regulatory delays and a fairing mishap preceded the flight, and one of the four Sirius engines faltered, causing the 30-metric-tonne rocket to lose thrust and slide off course. A second engine failure led to a slow descent and an unintended propulsive landing, with the rocket staying upright until it tipped over. Check out the footage and analysis of this dramatic test flight, and what’s next for Gilmour’s ambitious program.

Quote
Aug 1, 2025  JOHN F. KENNEDY SPACE CENTER
Join us for an action-packed week of space exploration, kicking off with a Vega C launch from French Guiana on July 26th, carrying the MicroCarb satellite to map global CO2 levels and four CO3D satellites for 3D Earth observation. Meanwhile, SpaceX dominated with four Falcon 9 Starlink missions, launching 99 satellites, including a foggy liftoff from California. China’s Chang Zheng 6A and 8A rockets boosted the SatNet constellation, while a Hyperbola 1 rocket successfully returned to flight with a Kunpeng-03 satellite. India’s GSLV Mk II launched the NASA-ISRO NISAR satellite for precision Earth mapping, and Australia’s first homegrown orbital rocket, Eris, attempted its debut but fell short after 14 seconds—though its Vegemite payload survived! Wrapping up, SpaceX’s Crew-11 mission launched to the ISS, marking the final landing at LZ-1.
