It's Tony De La Rosa, ...I don't create this stuff, I just report it.

Milton moving off. So far, all of our people we’ve been able to contact are ok. The Base is still closed, so limited info on the facilities. Fingers crossed.

.@NASAKennedy is still closed, but the worst is over! The Ride Out Team just decided it is safe to go out for an initial assessment of the Center.

Jeez - go look at the track in post 2 of this thread from four days ago.  This storm followed that exact track.

Isn't it really unusual to predict the track so accurately so far out?

Cape Canaveral Space Force Station is now in RECON 2 in response to Hurricane Milton. This means that the initial damage assessment& safety hazard mitigation are complete. The HRT and APPOINTED mission essential personnel are beginning to restore critical infrastructure.

ONLY APPOINTED mission essential personnel will have access to enter Cape Canaveral Space Force Station at this time.

CCSFS currently does not have potable water.  All personnel reporting to the installation are advised to bring their own water source.

I think they've been pretty accurate this year. Debby and Helene were both very close to the track forecast days earlier.

In recent years, track is generally well-forecasted days ahead.  Forecasting intensity is the current challenge.
