NSF Starbase Daily Summary Videos
« on: 02/17/2024 03:00 pm »
[FST edit: I’ve renamed the thread to make clearer what the videos are for people looking for them]

Starbase Daily Unnarriated Video Library from all the NSF on-site reporters

The unnarrated videos were captured from various NSF static cameras and roving cameras from various NSF members. They are well-edited and document important weekly events for ongoing activities at Starbase. Despite being produced for some time, they have been randomly and inconsistently posted in various SpaceX threads, making searching for them difficult. Unfortunately, they are not contained in their own YouTube playlist on the NSF channel. Still, they are instead grouped with other videos in a generic playlist, making it challenging to search for them. I want to start housing them here to provide a chronological video library that members could refer to. These B-Roll videos are usually expertly indexed and included in each video posted, making it easy to search for specific areas of the Starbase complex. These B-Roll videos are later used for the weekly Hosted NSF Starbase update.

While waiting for the next Daily Updated Video, join the live action at Starbase by clicking this link:  Starbase Live

Enjoy.

Feb 24, 2024
Ship 28 sits on Suborbital Pad B after removal from Booster 10. It is unclear if the Ship will undergo more testing, work, or checkouts prior to its flight on IFT-3. Also a new parking lot was torn up, potentially making way for the second launch tower at the Orbital Launch Site.

I expect this post to get deleted, but there appears to be no other place to post feedback about the videos. Posting replies in the videos does not let every voice have a say, it ends up being a group think and popularist opinion only.

I wanted to express my frustration with the new approach, and how it's being determined whether commentary being added is a good or bad. My personal viewpoint is that we have enough hype talking and joke making on all the other videos, it was nice to have a refuge from all the noise where we could get a summary of the progress.

If NSF is monetarising the videos, then I understand, the popularist view wins if you wish to maximise your returns. But if not, then can we please have one place where we don't need to listen to someone?

Sure, I can turn the sound off, but I enjoyed the ambiance and I miss it.
