So it looks like JAXA put out a request for bidders for a small exoplanet space telescope called OPENS

Looks like Canon Electronics, with their experience in earth observation EO smallsats, put in a bid

I wonder how they are going to overcome diffraction limits for a small telescope though to be useful for exoplanet research...
