I wonder if the botched comment was intended to convey the idea that SZ 10 will be the last flight where a significant objective will be testing the spacecraft because it will be used as an "operational" ferry to and from full-size space stations in future.   And possibly as part of a manned lunar programme.

Who seriously doubts that the Chinese manned space program has reached
commendible maturity? And perhaps reached a crossroads in their manned
spaceflight program? Bigger spacestations in the future? Lunar flybys?

Here http://www.chinanews.com/sh/2013/06-06/4903205.shtml you can find (in Chinese) an article about Zhang Xiaoguang.

Apparently the obligatory pre-launch press briefing is scheduled at 07:00 UTC on June 10 - so this essentially confirms that launch day is June 11.  :)

A Chinese source has quoted the 'setting off ceremony' i.e. taikonauts leave preparation area, as 14.48 Beijing Time 11th June. (very precise!!)

I did some calculations on the launch time of SZ-10 on June 11, using the orbital data of TG-1 and the same ascent profile as SZ-9 to get the co-planar launch time. I got 09:38:20 UTC +- 1 min.

I'll post how I get the data later when I have time.....

I suppose we will have a two docking scheme for SZ-10 mission similar to SZ-9, where the first docking will be done on automated mode and the second docking we be manual.

One of the main tasks the crew will perform is a fly around manoeuvre. On Shenzhou-8 and Shenzhou-9 the rendezvous was made on the V-bar approach. For Shenzhou-10, Chinese space specialist said that one of the main goals is to try to approach the station on the R-bar, and then manoeuvre to the docking port.

I expect that the first docking should be automated and the second docking a manual one.

Your thoughts?

From People's Daily...

Four tasks of Shenzhou-10 spacecraft mission.

That link sounds interesting. A video linkup for teenagers? Maybe a live transmission to a school in China? That would be a first, I believe, I don't think there was any such broadcast during Shenzhou 9.

No, there was not. This will be the first time there will be a transmission like that on a Chinese manned mission.

There is also a short but also interesting animation about the construction of the planned multi-module station. (After the SZ-10 mission animation starts, there is a row of links along the bottom. Now click on the second link from the right.)
