Name the Dream Chaser?
« on: 09/22/2022 05:06 pm »
I was happily blown away by SNC's announcement that they were going to build 10 Dream Chasers, since the first one already has a name, Tenacity, should we give them a jumpstart on the other 9? (Knowing that they've either already got names in mind, or have plans to name them as employee motivation or PR campaign, so this is really just a fun thread)

Dale Reed (after the father of the lifting body program)
Protector ("Never give up, Never surrender" seems to be SNC's motto when it came to the program)
Constitution (after the original name for Enterprise)
Faith (for "Keeping the faith" and not giving up on the program)
Sarıkız (After the Turkish myth, honoring their heritage)

As long as they don't open it up to internet voting, or it would end up like "Dreamy McDreamface"...

Somewhere in the depths of this forum is a list of alternate Shuttle names.

Then there are gods, countless of them - see all the celestial bodies named across the solar system.

Faith (both after Mr. Ozmen, and for "Keeping the faith" and not giving up on the program)

His name is Fatih, not Faith.

Perhaps the names from USN WWII cargo/auxiliary ships might be a consideration for cargo Dream Chaser... Lots to choose from...

Since the first Dream Chaser orbital vehicle has been named Tenacity, the other nine Dream Chasers should be given these following names:
- Intrepid
- Joe Walker
- Neil Armstrong
- Friendship
- Liberty
- Gene Cernan
- Wally Schirra
- Bill Nelson
- John Young

Lots of celebrities. How about some working folk, like Story.
Those who danced were thought to be quite insane by those who couldn't hear the music.

Someone can get naming rights for the future Dreamchasers either by putting down money or be the winner of a vehicle naming lottery.  :)
