The objective of MicroCarb is to map, on a planetary scale, the sources and sinks of the main greenhouse gas: CO2. This mission, currently under development, plans the launch of a micro-satellite at the end of 2023.
The lift capacity of SpaceX’s Falcon 9 rocket is very similar to Ariane 62. There appears to be no technical reason that the highly reliable Falcon rocket could not send the 2,000 kg Euclid satellite into the required L2 orbit. SpaceX has already launched several science payloads for NASA, and quite a few are in the books. A Falcon 9 launch costs around $60 million, a bargain compared to Euclid storage costs. The key question is how the F9 launch vibration spectrum (which may affect Euclid’s delicate instruments) differs from Ariane/Soyuz. SpaceX has indicated that it will undertake a feasibility study of launching Euclid on Falcon 9 and that this study could be completed by the end of the summer, with a possible launch date as early as Q4 2023.

Jeff Foust @jeff_foustIsraël: look for a role in Artemis with Ariane 6 launches of proposed European EL3 lunar cargo lander; hope to convince NASA and ESA to go beyond that.
Jeff Foust @jeff_foustIsraël: like to end the Ariane 5 with the launch of JUICE in April 2023. Will discuss later this month plans on transition to Ariane 6 next year.
The launch of Sentinel-1C has been somewhat accelerated and is scheduled to take place in the latter half of April 2023.- This launch is done with the new European launch vehicle Vega-C. It had its first successful launch on 13 July this year, which bodes well for the launch of Sentinel-1C next year, says Moldestad....The failure of Sentinel-1B also means that the launch of Sentinel-1D has become much more important.- The hope was that Sentinel-1A and Sentinel-1B would last for 10 years and that Sentinel-1D would be stored for a few years. But now Sentinel-1D must be ready to replace Sentinel-1A perhaps as early as 2024, so the launch plans for this radar satellite will probably also be changed, says Moldestad....In Copernicus, the ROSE-L radar satellite is also under construction. But this satellite is not planned to be launched until 2028 at the earliest.

In May, June, and July 2022 Avio successfully conducted the first series of tests of the new LOX-Methane M10 engine in its own testing facility in Sardinia. Avio’s M10 engine is the very first of its type to be tested in Europe. The first test and the following ones, with a total engine ignition time of more than 800 seconds, allow for a linear and timely development of the program, which will culminate with the planned launch of Vega E in 2026
