ADM-Aeolus and Swarm satellites will be launched by Rokot rockets, possibly Sentinel-1 satellite is too.

Not a good sign for Vega.

Next Ariane launches are updated according to info taken from FCS.

V195 on 6 May.
V196 around mid-June.

Sentinel -1 was never meant to be launched on Vega. Vega can put roughly 1500 kg into a polar orbit. Sentinel-1 will go into polar orbit but weighs 2500 kg. So, Sentinel-1 is a full metric ton outside the performance envelope of Vega.

ADM-Aeolus and Swarm are headed for a different launcher simply because Vega is not ready on time. Remember, Vega is already 2 years late.

Sentinel-1 is also to heavy for Rokot and is certainly not a candidate for the second, currently unasigned ESA mission.

ESA's Rockot contract is for two launches: A firm contract for Swarm (which turned out not to be compatible with launching on Vega) and another launch for an unassigned payload.

Nominally, ADM-Aeolus is still earmarked for Vega. ESA rules stipulate however, that in principle a backup launcher shall be available for ESA launches. So that second rockot is currently just a generic backup for Vega class missions.

Sentinel-1 is planned on a Soyuz class launcher.

Before V195. Respectively V195 slips to June and V196 to July.

Vega qualification flight is also postponed to early 2011.

http://www.spacenews.com/launch/100430-delays-vega-european-soyuz.html

"The European version of Russia’s Soyuz rocket will be unable to conduct more than its inaugural flight this year, rather than the two launches planned earlier, and Europe’s new light-lift rocket, Vega, is unlikely to make its debut until early in 2011, the head of the Arianespace launch consortium said."

HYLAS 1 could be switched to Ariane 5.

"Avanti reports that the potential of a launch delay using a Soyuz lifter means that a switch to an Ariane 5 alternative is being considered."

Next launches:
V195 in late June.
V196 in late July.

A communications satellite for the Middle East and a South Korean multi-purpose spacecraft are due for launch in late June. Another Ariane 5 will blast off in late July, followed by more missions at a pace of nearly one per month through December, Le Gall said.

The satellite, to be launched by an Ariane rocket, will secure Ku-band continuity for Eutelsat and additional Ku-band resources for ictQatar and will provide Ka-band capability, opening business opportunities for both parties, the two companies said.
