In the launch listing for 2013 the launch vehicle for the Tiangong 2 mini-station is given as the CZ-7.
Is this correct?   If Tiangong 2 is to be like Tiangong 1, then I would have thought it would also be launched on the CZ-2F(T?).   Also I would be surprised if such a high profile payload would be on the maiden launch of the vehicle.
Phil, the information I had was that TG-2 was going to be launched by the CZ-2F/H that now is the CZ-7. If TG-2 if effectively is going to use the CZ-7, then we should expect some launches of this rocket before this mission.

If this correct then I would expect the Shenhou launches to continue out of Jiuquan since the Chinese have invested so much in the infrastructure there.

Yes, I agree with that.
Iam not sure of any rumoured maiden launches of the CZ-7, though, before 2013 or so.

I haven't seen any also but I suppose they will want to test it before committing to launch TG-2 on the CZ-7.

I am waiting to see what will be on the maiden flights of the CZ-5, CZ-6 and CZ-7 - and how soon they will come along.   The CZ-5 I would guess will be an all-up test with the two pairs of strap-ons with differing diameters - and that is due around 2015, I think.
I've always been crazy but it's kept me from going insane - WJ.

A question to our Chinese friends: even with the Chinese New Year Festivities do you think it is possible to have the Compass-G5 launch at the end of January?

From Xinhua, China plans to launch 21 rockets, 30 satellites this year.

"...including the launch of the Shenzhou-9 spacecraft, which will achieve space rendezvous and docking missions with the orbiting Tiangong-1 vehicle."... not talking about Shenzhou-10.

Maybe Shenzhou 10 isn't mentioned because its schedule depends upon the success of Shenzhou 9?

Who can tell. Maybe SZ-9 has moved to the right, pushing SZ-10 in 2013;  maybe they just mentioned SZ-9 because it's a case of 'one step at a time'; maybe the real message just got lost in the reporting or translation again.............

Tracking the Chinese manned programme remains intriguing and frustrating!!

I would say, the most intriguing and interesting thing in our days about human spaceflight...

According to a newspaper report, 21 launches are planned in 2012. Of these, only 11 of them use rockets made by CALT. This, combined with earlier news about 8 planned launches from Xichang and the probable slip of SZ-10 into 2012, hints at the number of launches of the Chinese launchers this year:

CZ-3A/B/C: 8 launches
CZ-2F: 1 launch
CZ-2C: 2 launches
CZ-2D/4B/4C (all produced by SAST): 10 launches (!)

CZ-2D/4B/4C (all produced by SAST): 10 launches (!)

Information I have seen since this post:

1. SAST confirms that they will perform 10 launches in 2012, 5 each from Jiuquan and Taiyuan. They will also perform 2 launches for foreign customers (presumably Goturk-2 + VRSS-1), a first since their first space launch in 1988.

2. 30 satellites and spacecrafts are planned to reach orbit on board Chinese rockets in 2012, with 21 launches planned.

3. It's unclear if HJ-1C can make it to the launch pad in 2012: it could be scheduled late this year.

4. The next launch from Taiyuan will occur in April.

5. TL-1C is scheduled for launch in 2H 2012.

6. Several news reports that I've seen seems to converge on a June launch for SZ-9.

7. Launches for the SJ-11 constellation will continue this year.

VRSS-1 has been renamed "Francisco Miranda". It is announced for a launch in September or October 2012.

In the launch listing for 2012 it is implied that the Shijian 9 launch will comprise two satellites aboard a CZ-2D2 from Jiuquan.

Gunter Krebs is showing Shijian 9 as being a single satellite mission (http://space.skyrocket.de/doc_sdat/sj-9.htm).

Is it possible to clarify whether the Shijian 9 launch is expected to be one or two satellites, please?   Of course, the launch could be *two* satellites of the type shown by Gunter!

I wonder whether this will be a follow-on to the oddity Shijian 7 which used the same launch vehicle and launch site in 2005 - that satellite has not been satisfactorally explained to my knowledge.
