Falcon 9 V1.1 upper stage observed SPC# 40108
« on: 07/23/2017 01:15 pm »
Ran across this  Falcon 9  Upper stage R/B ( SPC# 40108) just before midnight Friday. The video cover from 4:58:15 UT to 4:59:33 UT ,July 22, 2017, This was the launch of the ASIASAT (SPC# 40107) back in August 5, 2014. The Falcon 9 R/B was at a distance of  around 27013 KMs.  The perigee is now getting very low for this R/B which is down to 176 KMs so it will not be long before this R/B comes back.
The satellite track in the video starts around RA:19h 05m 55.7s, Dec:-06deg 06' 27.7" and ends at around RA: 19h 04m 57.35 Dec:-06 deg 14' 03.3". Look just below and slightly to the left of center of the video the Falcon 9 R/B is tracking down towards the  bottom of the video. The other object you may notice which looks like it is going to the left is a hot pixel in the video camera.

Enjoy!
Regards
Thomas
