SpaceX recovery fleet ships are everywhere at the moment...
Of Course I Still Love You: Returning to Port Canaveral with Falcon 9, following the Demo-2 mission.Just Read the Instructions: En-route to the offshore landing zone for the Starlink mission.Ms. Tree / Ms. Chief: En-route to the fairing recovery zone for the Starlink mission.
GO Searcher: Stationed in Pensacola for Demo-2 Dragon recovery operations.GO Navigator: Stationed in Port Canaveral for Demo-2 Dragon recovery operations.GO Quest: Resuppliers at the Port of Morehead City for the upcoming Starlink mission.
Go Searcher being in the gulf is clearly not involved in Dragon recovery ops, which would be somewhere in the Atlantic if something had gone wrong. Either it rushed back to port after Saturday's launch, or it was never involved.

Either it rushed back to port after Saturday's launch, or it was never involved. The two recovery ships for Dragon (one in the Atlantic and one in the Gulf) was explicitly mentioned in the DM-2 coverage. I am mot sure in which part, possible multiple times. They had multiple pre calculated reentry trajectories for different emergency scenarios, and I think also mentioned that will decide which to use based on many factors (where weather is one).
I believe this is the busiest the SpaceX fleet has been at any one time?Booster recover from DM-2 launch in parallel with fleet deployment for imminent Starlink launch booster and fairing recovery. That Starlink deployment happening just after Dragon recovery ships were presumably on alert in case of an early Dragon return?

That Starlink deployment happening just after Dragon recovery ships were presumably on alert in case of an early Dragon return?Funny, this reminds me of the early days when SpaceX was just starting up their marine ops with one or two vessels, and Elon made a comment about not wanting too many of them, because he didn't like the idea of having to maintain an "armada."Sure looks like an armada now...bearing precious rockets instead of spices from the Indies...
SpaceX recovery ships divert from Hurricane Iain 🌀ASOG/Bob (carrying B1073) diverted south, instead of delivering to Port Canaveral.JRTI/Doug departed last night to avoid the storm, in advance of Crew 5Shannon was due in Tampa, diverted to Port Everglades. Megan following.
In Port Canaveral:B1067 processing completed and rolled to a hanger. Mobile crane used to lift Falcon 9 has had boom lowered. Other hardware (including fairing halves) have been secured and moved. Highlight clip from: nsf.live/spacecoast.
ASOG/Bob/B1073 are NE of the Bahamas. JRTI/Doug are sailing in that direction too.Megan is sailing towards Shannon is in the Everglades. All SpaceX ships are clear of Ian's direct path but conditions rough.Stay safe everyone in Florida!
The gangs all here! Bob, Doug, JRTI, ASOG, Crosby Skipper, alongside 2 Falcon 9 Boosters B1062 and B1069 are all present in port Canaveral. A brief rest is in order for the fleet, as the next scheduled offshore landing is almost a month out. Next up, Falcon Heavy! @SpaceOffshore
How could I forget Megan and Shannon in the very far back of the port as well! That makes 4 SpaceX boats, 2 barges, 2 boosters and a contracted tugboat all in Port Canaveral!
It's rare to see all of SpaceX's East Coast recovery ship fleet together nowadays with the crazy schedule but there is a rare gap at the moment... ...so family photo! 📸Find out what each ship does here: https://spacexfleet.com/fleetStare at them 24/7 here: https://nsf.live/spacecoast
Dragon recovery ship Megan has moved into the Banana river and will shelter from Hurricane Nicola at the SFS dock.Sister ship Shannon has moved to the more enclosed navy submarine dock to shelter.
Bob and Doug delivered both sets of fairing halves from Hotbird-13G and USSF-44 respectively to Port Canaveral over the weekend. Both ships have now departed the area to avoid Hurricane Nicole. Bob is near Cuba and Doug near Fort Lauderdale.
Dragon recovery ship Megan has emerged from her hurricane hiding spot on the Space Force Base.Shannon and Doug are returning too. Workers have started to process B1067, which endured Nicole on JRTI.nsf.live/spacecoast
West Coast droneship support vessel GO Quest has departed Long Beach and is heading to the Panama Canal.A new GO ship, GO Crusader arrived at the SpaceX docks a few weeks ago, after crossing at Panama, and now appears to be in service as the replacement for GO Quest.GO Quest has worked for SpaceX for 9 years (from the very earliest booster landing attempts) and was based on the East Coast until late 2021, before following OCISLY to California. Will follow the ship to see where it goes next 🚀GO Quest 📸 @julia_bergeron GO Crusader📸Guice Offshore
It's a rare sight to see all of SpaceX's East Coast recovery fleet together these days with such a busy launch scheduleHere's a photo from this morning from nsf.live to capture the scene at Port Canaveral🌞
Doug has big aspirations 😅
