FY-3D will be launched by the CZ-4C (Y21).

Satellite and launch vehicle will be sent to Taiyuan in early July.

This will be the return-to-flight for the CZ-4C after the 3rd stage launch failure on August 31, 2016, resulting in the loss of Gaofen 10.
***

Assuming that this launch campaign is proceeding on schedule towards November 15;

And, given the assumptions of identical LV, identical launch location, and a need to place FY-3D into a SSO matching its 3 predecessors, with a matching LTDN to one of its predecessors, etc.:

Satellite     Date/Time UTC
FY-3A        May 27, 2008, 03:02
FY-3B        Nov 4, 2010, 18:37
FY-3C        Sept 13, 2013, 03:07

It appears that launch time would be near either 03:00 or 18:30 UTC.

There's a posting at the end of the FY-3A launch thread from January 2015, stating that it reached the end of its operational life.  Its place in China's meteorological polar-orbiting satellite constellation appears to have been taken by FY-3C.

If there is a need to augment or replace FY-3B, then that would further narrow down the launch time to ~18:30 UTC on November 15.

Is this an accurate deduction?

I suppose confirmation (or not) will come when the NOTAMs for this launch are published.

If anyone needs some official confirmation that this launch is for the FY-3D, here is an article today from the China Meteorological Administration's National Satellite Meteorological Center (NSMC) that confirms the launch is on.  ;)

https://directory.eoportal.org/web/eoportal/satellite-missions/f/fy-3 has detailed technological descriptions of the FY-3 series and instruments on board.

Are there any secondary payloads on board? None of the news reports I saw mention any, if there were one.  :-X
