Launch of Compass-G1 is now planned for end of December.
The name should rather be "Compass-G3" since "Compass-M1" and Compass-G2" have already been launched..

My guess is, that the numbering of the Compass-designation is related to the intended orbital-slot and not to the launch row. G1 would mean the first slot of the geostationary system, M1 the first slot of the 12-hours system.

?? - CZ-3B - XSLC - ZX-20 (2) ZhongXing-20 (2)

Hi Rui,
thanks for the update. One little remark - ST-1B (ShenTong 1B) and ZX-20(2) (ZhongXing-20(2)) are the same. If ST-1B is based on the DFH-3 plattform then CZ-3A is the most likely launcher.

Rumors on our freinds 9ifly forum point to a possible launch this month from Jiuquan. This launch would take place before the the launch of the next BeiDou from Xi Chang.

Perhaps I am being a little too pedantic here, but I think that it is incorrect to refer to "recoverable Moon rovers".

I believe that the Chinese are planning to use small rovers to collect samples which will then be transferred to an Earth return vehicle, while the rovers themselves remain on the Moon.   The rovers could possibly continue to operate after the ascent stage has headed back to Earth.

Maybe like the Apollo LRVs, the Chinese rovers could return images of the ascent stage lift-off?

Hi Phillip!

I have used the People's Daily news China's recoverable moon rover expected in 2017 as a source for this entry on the schedule. I also find the idea a little strange and that mission would indeed be a great acomplishment for China. So I will instead say "'recoverable' Moon rovers".

No, they can't.

And it looks like weather is not cooperating at this time for launch from Jiuquan.
