Just compared 1B with 1A brochures. 1B (1432 Kg) weighs 7 kg more than 1A (1425Kg). Does any know whether it is typo or really it's weight is increased?

Thx

They have the same dry masses. 614 kg. (On page 5 of the brochures - IRNSS-1A, IRNSS-1B)

The injection orbit of 1A was: GTO 284 km x 20,650 km x 17.86 degree inclination to the Equatorial plane
1B is:     GTO 284 km x 20,652 km x 19.2 degree inclination to the Equatorial plane

Final orbits of 1A: GSO 55 E x 29 degree inclination to the Equatorial plane
1B: GSO 55 E x 31 degree initial inclination to the Equatorial plane
(Pg 5 has 1B's orbit at 55 E x 29 degree GSO though)

So 1B has to change inclination by a fraction more (from GTO to initial orbit).

But this doesn't make sense. Why would you not use spare fuel capacity on 1A? Why fill the tank to less than full? Evidently 1B - with an identical fuel tank, could hold 7 kg more.

Unless the addition of 7 kg fuel implied that the rocket wouldn't be able to throw it as high/fast; and that the fuel burnt by the satellite (with the lower Isp LAM) to get to where it would have been (had you not tanked the extra 7 kgs) is = or more than 7 kgs.

EDIT: Anyone know the Isp for the LAM? How much delta-V does 7 kg (in a stoichiometric ratio of fuel/ox) provide?
