Please note, as much as we keep improving the servers - the amount of people who hit the site during these major events is an astonishing peak. We are - by far - the most used forum for multiple space flight subjects, including SpaceX, so it is understandable that during major events for these subject areas, we can be overloaded.

As such, during these major events, we may suffer from occasional "bad gateway"/sluggish issue which occur when there's a bottleneck of thousands of people hitting the site at the same second.

However, to help mitigate this, we can make this forum member only (removing guest access) if we become sluggish, which is a good way to prioritize smooth access to the site to those who need it the most.

To be a member of NSF takes a few seconds to register, it is free, we do not use your e-mail for any purpose other than to confirm your membership. http://forum.nasaspaceflight.com/index.php?action=register - is where you can register and create a membership here - again, for free.

As of 11:30 AM EST, weather forecast upgraded to 80% GO. Concern about winds out of limits at liftoff. A 90% weather GO for Wednesday if launch is rescheduled.

NASA TV coverage begins at 5:00 PM EST. SpaceX webcast begins at 5:45 PM. Link includes a flight timeline.

The ELV countdown portal works for F9 this time, so we can follow the countdown events:

You may need to add the following sites to java exception site list

We're told (L2) that bad weather in the Atlantic is now a discussion regarding the core stage landing attempt on the ASDS. Likely a call closer to launch, but be aware they may not opt to attempt the ASDS return for this one.

This has no impact on the primary mission of course.

Think SpaceX will give any indication before launch if they're going to try the core stage landing?
EDIT: Sorry wrong thread. Please move to discussion thread.

The low pressure system that dumped the rain yesterday is heading off to the East to drop some rain on my head later in the week, probably.

Solar is good.

All weather is good. Upper Level winds are not part of these weather parameters.

So it doesn't look good for the winds to lower. The task is to try and find a path uphill, a corridor if you will, and program that into the flight computer.

If tomorrow scrubs, why do we have to wait until the 20th?  Range restrictions for Atlas or something?

Offline Chris Bergin

Ok, well done everyone. Special thanks to Stephen for really helping out with the coverage again.

We'll have a new thread for the next attempt.

Site did well with the new server set up! Guest stayed on. Nice and smooth.

A lot of venting on the left. NASA coverage has ended.

Weather is less then 10% no go for tomorrow, so should be a much better chance of liftoff, unless a technical gremlin strikes.
