BBC - First Men in the Moon
« on: 05/17/2018 09:50 pm »
Just found an adaptation of a old classic that I love, First Men in The Moon. Yes it's space based and totally inaccurate, but it's such a nice a nice story and this version is rather good and rather British.

BBC programs are paid for with a tax on televisions, which isn't collected outside the UK, (for the most part?) so maybe they don't want non payers watching their stuff....

There is a new streaming service available in the US called BritBox full of BBC programs.  I suspect that is where it might be available outside of the UK.

Yep,
£150.50 a year per household. Free when you hit 75.

First men on the moon is available from Amazon.com - in PAL format region 2-4 DVD, so may not play on US machines.

Often in the US, BBC programs will run either on BBC America or on PBS depending on the type.  But this is often delayed from their initial airing in the UK.

It was first shown on the Beeb in 2010, so the likes of BBC America should have it. Mind you, a lot of BBC programmes are produced by independent companies, but is it down as distributed by BBC worldwide so should be available.
