I guess spaceX does control the X machine, they managed to slip lunch between an M7 and an X1 flare!

We have to wait almost a whole MONTH before we fly again!!!!! Remember when once a month was exciting and everyone thought they couldn't keep up that pace????

Well, on the upside that gives some time to clean up the mess that is barrelling down towards Cape from the south without automatically messing up the launch schedule. Here's hoping they don't get to rebuild any pads (again!) or hangars...

Uh....anyone hear from Jim??...last heard he was heading to Clearwater...in the path  of the storm ..

Jim's like Chuck Norris. He'll be fine.
So you're saying Irma changed course and didn't make direct landfall in Tampa to avoid going eye to eye with him?

Well you know the Rideout team were in a secure location to ensure their safety? It was just a normal office with Jim at the door.
Jim was in Clearwater (the water cleared up when it heard he was coming) and so they had to use just a picture...

I showed my wife the video and that led to explaining flight termination systems. She has now decided that her dream job is "designated rocket exploder".

I didn't break the news that a computer already stole her job.

There have been so many photos looking up at the landed booster in front of SpaceX HQ at Hawthorne that sometimes we fail to apprehend the sheer size of the booster.  I made this graphic for the SpaceX Facebook group to help illustrate how big those grid fins are up at the top of the booster.  :D

OK, I can understand that Serta put in the low bid for fabricating the titanium grid fins, but, um... there needs to be some better corporate communications, here, about appropriate product testing... :D
