I know this isn't really space news, but it's very interesting to follow:

Landing at Kent International Airport is expected in about 50 minutes at 1 pm EST(1700 UTC).

Just to post a short summary: Due an unspecified problem with an generator aboard the Virgin Atlantic GlobalFlyer Steve Fosset had to divert to alternate runway in Bournemouth instead of landing as planned at the Kent International Airport. GlobalFlyer appearantly blew two tires on landing but Fosset is reported to be OK.

There's reports that after his SOS they just got him to the South Coast divertion and that he blew the tires after nearly coming off the end of the runway, into a motorway, if I remember that airport right. Nearly got messy.

A historic voyage. Glad it didn't end as bad as it could have!

Wasn't as much drama as noted here, he landed fine to say he has a loss of power from the generator.
