MOSCOW, Mar 31 - RIA News. Two Galileo navigation satellites will be launched into space in December on a Russian Soyuz launch vehicle from the Kourou space center in French Guiana, instead of the European Ariane 6 rocket, a source in the space rocket told RIA Novosti.
"It was decided to launch two Galileo satellites with the Soyuz-ST-B rocket from Kuru. The date is tentative - December 15, as it depends on the timing of the launch of the cosmodrome after quarantine due to coronavirus," the agency’s source said.
According to him, initially it was planned to send these satellites into space on the Ariane 6 rocket, but its launch was postponed until mid-2021.

Today from OHB:

Quote
...Environmental tests successfully passed by the first two Batch 3 Galileo satellites...
Bremen, December 7, 2020. Series production of the satellites for the European Galileo navigation system has taken a major step forward: FM23 and FM24 have successfully completed environmental impact testing at the Space Research and Technology Center of the European Space Agency (ESTEC) in Noordwijk, Netherlands. The first two Batch 3 satellites are expected to be launched jointly from the Kourou Space Center in summer 2021.

Considering FOC-23 was the last satellite to be named after a child following the 2011 Drawing competition (a UK boy named Patrick), and that UK no longer belongs to Galileo program, and that half a year before the launch no new names have been announced for FOC-24 satellites and onwards, can we expect that the names' system no longer exists for FOC-23 and new satellites ?

I hardly imagine on the same launch FOC-23 being named after a country who has left the EU and FOC-24 not being named at all.

There was the Galileo Drawing Competition 2019 in Norway, Croatia and Switzerland.
https://ec.europa.eu/growth/sectors/space/galileo/drawing-competition_en
The winners have been announced, but it's been forgotten a bit because of Covid-19.
Why should the FOC FM23 no longer be called Patrick because of Brexit?  ???

Thanks for the new names, I wasn't aware of this new competition.

But... to make it easier... the Europa.ec website you linked seems to say that "Patrick" was part of 2018's launch (https://ec.europa.eu/growth/sectors/space/galileo/launches_en)

The left Batch 2 satellite is "Tara" in their list.

For your last question, I was just wondering... and a page of UK Gov seems to confirm that...

Who knows, Patrick is still there:

But how politics ticking on both sides of the channel, anything is possible.

To finish with my thoughts : considering there was 1 name left "unused" from former competition and 3 new names added since, we get the 4 names needed for next 2 launches. So yes, "Patrick" is still there (or "Tara" since it is unclear which was launched in 2018 - OHB says it was "Tara").

I know and agree with it, but your first link says in its "Galileo system" category...

Quote
Eighth launch of Galileo Full Operational Capability (FOC) satellites
On 24 July 2018, Galileo satellites (codenamed Samuel, Anna, Ellen and Patrick) lifted-off from the European Space Port of Kourou, French Guyana at 13:20 CET aboard Ariane 5 ES flight VA244. The separation of the four satellites from the quadruple dispenser of the launcher occurred as planned. On the basis of the emitted signals, the expected position of the satellites in-orbit was confirmed minutes after the separation of the two pairs.

... and it's also an ec.europa.eu page  ;)

summer or midyear   ???

More important: Is a Fregat-MT in Kourou or has one been ordered in Russia for Galileo?

MOSCOW, March 14 - RIA Novosti. <snip>
In September 2017, a contract was signed to launch four Galileo vehicles with two Ariane 6 launch vehicles between late 2020 and mid 2021. The treaty provided for the use of Soyuz missiles as a fallback. Later, due to the delay in the first launch of the Ariane 6, which is now slated for the second quarter of 2022, one of the two Galileo launches has been postponed to Soyuz and is currently slated for September 2021.

"The launch of the Soyuz-ST-B rocket with the Fregat-MT upper stage and two Galileo satellites from the Guiana Space Center (Kuru Cosmodrome - Ed.) Has been postponed until November," the agency's source said.
Another source confirmed this information, adding that the launch is scheduled for late November, and its postponement is not related to Russian launch vehicles. "The rocket and the upper stage were made a long time ago," he said.
