Spaceflight and Rocketry books
« on: 05/25/2025 02:55 pm »
I have just bought yet another book - "Atlas: The Story of a Missile" by John L. Chapman. Looks like a first edition, dated 1960 and missing its dustcover. It cost me £5 (< 7 USD).

I've yet to look at the book and I believe the text is out there online somewhere anyway...

I have a number of spaceflight/rocketry themed books but I _really_ need to declutter. I've gifted a load of non spaceflight stuff to charity shops, including DVDs, books and vinyl.

But I worry the literature I have - with a more limited readership - might end up in landfill if I gift those.  I did once ask in the 'British Heart Foundation' shop (in relation to old science fiction) what happens to books that don't sell and it is landfill  :(

I haven't collated the books I want to dispose of yet, but if anyone can at least suggest what I could do with them I'd appreciate it.

Thanks,
Nic

Sell online. Someone willing to pay for a book will take good care of it. Takes work, books go away slowly, but books go to where they are wanted and appreciated.
