At the Baikonur Cosmodrome is the head of the assembly of the space program 'Canopus-B "
07/12/2012 ::

At Baikonur launch site began the integration of the transient farm spacecraft, which must be put into orbit July 22 launch vehicle "Soyuz-2.1a" with the upper stage "Fregat". Results for "Union" launched five spacecraft: the Russian "Canopus-B", the Belarusian BCA, MCA, Russia, FCI ("Zond-PP"), the German «TET-1" and the Canadian «ADS-1B».

Reducing farm installed at the top of the upper stage and all the spacecraft will be attached to it. Foreign and Russian specialists performed installation on a farm spacecraft «TET-1" and are currently undertaking work on the installation of the SC "Canopus-B."

Press Service of KC and the Russian Space Agency, "South"

Will this launch use the Soyuz-2? (or was it a mistake?)

Yes a launch with a soyuz-2.1a and a Fregat upper stage. What is the problem?

Earlier reports said that a Soyuz-FG will be used (not that it's much of a difference, but I want to set the records straight....).

It is the 11A511U-FG Soyuz-FG/Fregat (Б15000-033/1019).

The payload adapter structure seems very complicated and large for those small payloads. Is that related to the Phobos-Grunt payload adapter?

Assembly of the space head unit has been completed.

So the two satellites with orange insulation are the near-identical Kanopus and BelKA. I think that's MKA-FKI in front and probably exactView-1 (ADS-1b) peeking out at the back; where is TET-1?

MKA-FKA is also MKA-PN1 per anik; "Zond-PP" is the instrument rather than the satellite, right? And "Rezonans No. 1A" is another, future, satellite using the same bus and also carrying the Zond-PP instrument, rather than just another name for this satellite - correct?

TET-1 was hidden on the other side of the assembly; here is a view from the other side with TET-1 visible and MKA-PN1 hidden.

I'm confused. Is this a Russian government or commercial launch? Either way, will it be broadcasted anywhere?
