A video showing VNIEM employees working on Kanopus. There is also some footage of girondines, but its not clear if these are part of Kanopus, or just VNIEM products being displayed.

SSTL announces exactView-1 satellite launch date

6/7/2012

Surrey Satellite Technology Ltd (SSTL) is announcing the planned launch of exactView-1, the highest detection performance Automatic Identification System (AIS) satellite ever built, on 22nd July by a Soyuz launch vehicle from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan.

exactView-1 (previously known as ADS-1b) was built under contract for exactEarth and will become the fifth deployed satellite in exactEarth’s advanced vessel monitoring satellite constellation. COM DEV Canada acted as prime contractor and COM DEV Europe(UK) supplied the advanced AIS transceiver payload system for this mission. The satellite is based on SSTL’s off-the-shelf SSTL-100 platform, adapted for the mission with an additional deployable solar panel providing extra power for the COM DEV designed AIS receiver payload.

Will this launch use the Soyuz-2? (or was it a mistake?)

Earlier reports said that a Soyuz-FG will be used (not that it's much of a difference, but I want to set the records straight....).

The payload adapter structure seems very complicated and large for those small payloads. Is that related to the Phobos-Grunt payload adapter?

Assembly of the space head unit has been completed.

So the two satellites with orange insulation are the near-identical Kanopus and BelKA. I think that's MKA-FKI in front and probably exactView-1 (ADS-1b) peeking out at the back; where is TET-1?

MKA-FKA is also MKA-PN1 per anik; "Zond-PP" is the instrument rather than the satellite, right? And "Rezonans No. 1A" is another, future, satellite using the same bus and also carrying the Zond-PP instrument, rather than just another name for this satellite - correct?

So the two satellites with orange insulation are the near-identical Kanopus and BelKA. I think that's MKA-FKI in front and probably exactView-1 (ADS-1b) peeking out at the back; where is TET-1?
TET-1 was hidden on the other side of the assembly; here is a view from the other side with TET-1 visible and MKA-PN1 hidden.

Appreciate it, thanks!

So far, objects cataloged are:

38707  39A  500 x 558 km x 97.5 deg
38708  39B  505 x 509 km x 97.5
38709  39C  805 x 821 km  x99.0
38710  39D  503 x 509 km x 97.5
38711  39E  804 x 821 km x  99.0
38712  39F    40 x 810 km x 99.0  (epoch 0946 UTC)

I infer that 39A, 39B and 39D are Kanopus, Belka and TET in some order,
39C and 39E are  exactView and MKA in some order,  39F is the Fregat
after the last burn,  and the Soyuz-FG third stage has not been cataloged (although it should have reached orbit).

Do we know if the third stage was separated from Fregat at more than orbital velocity?

Unlikely, due to drop zone constraints.

The Fregat has been ignited five times overall (not counting the deorbit burn).

But do we know how many ignitions happened during the first phase (insertion of Kanopus-V, BKA and TET-1), and how many happened during the second phase (insertion of exactView 1 and Zond-PP) ?

Assembly of the space head unit has been completed.

MKA-FKI-class satellites use the Karat platform. Zond-PP, or MKA-PN1, is the first MKA-FKI satellite. Its main instrument is named RK-21-8. It is almost the same that the one set on the ISS on the EVA of 16th february 2011.

The payload adapter structure seems very complicated and large for those small payloads. Is that related to the Phobos-Grunt payload adapter?

Look at the European adapter for small paylaods !

Don't you mean "Likely, due to drop zone constraints"?
AFAIU, would the third stage be separated from Fregat at less than orbital velocity, its debris could have landed somewhere in Northern Greenland or Northern Canada...

From a source: Blok I in 192 x 193 km orbit, Fregat burn 1 and 2 to
the 510 x 524 km orbit, burn 3 and 4 to the 814 x 834 km orbit,
burn 5 to lower perigee, burn 6 to deorbit.

Meanwhile, the Blok I stage reentered on Jul 24.

Apparently, the cause is the onboard computer.

Farewell to the Technology Experiment Vehicle (TET-1) [dated Nov. 21]

Google translate:

Quote from: DLR
• The Technology Experimental Vehicle (TET-1) entered Earth's atmosphere on November 18, 2022 and burned up completely.
• Research and industry have used TET-1 since launch in 2012 as part of the OOV-TET-1 mission to test new products under space conditions.
• The small satellite became part of the FireBIRD mission in November 2013 and provided data for the analysis of high-temperature events on the Earth's surface. A total of about 7,600 recordings were made. Within the overall mission, around 150 scientific publications as well as bachelor's and master's theses and dissertations have emerged.

<snip>

Until its re-entry on November 18, 2022, TET-1 was still active, could receive commands, send readings and control its position autonomously. The TET-1 satellite burned up completely on re-entering the atmosphere after 10 years in orbit.
