MOSCOW, May 14 - RIA News. Russia can create a grouping of six "small spacecraft of radar observation" for the study of the Arctic regions, said the general director of the satellite corporation VNIIEM Leonid Makridenko. We are planning to come up with proposals for the creation of a space complex of small-sized radar observation spacecraft consisting of six spacecraft, he said at the conference Actual problems of creating space systems for remote sensing of the Earth.According to Makridenko, it will be possible to create such a group within three to four years. The General Director of VNIIEM noted that the satellites will be able to monitor the state of the ocean surface, as well as ice and snow cover, monitor the development of transport infrastructure and assist in the navigation of aircraft and ships. Thanks to the new grouping, it will also be possible to maintain information support for the search for hydrocarbon deposits on the shelf, monitoring the degradation of permafrost, and monitor pollution in real time. The radar complex with an active phased antenna array weighing about 100 kilograms (the mass of the satellite itself will be about 350 kilograms) should become the main working tool of the new satellites. Thanks to him, the satellite will be able to observe the territory of Russia at a latitude of 55 - 90 degrees north latitude (from Moscow to the North Pole) around the clock and in any weather. The satellites will be located in solar-synchronous orbits with a height of approximately 600 kilometers. Such a group will be able to see the Arctic regions of Russia at intervals of four to eight times a day.

Hmmm.. now only 7 OneWeb launches from Baikonur, instead of the 9 that RIA reported in April? So far my undestanding was:- 9 from Baikonur- 8 from Vostochny- 4 from CSG 21 Soyuz launches total (+5 options)The 21 is confirmed bis different sources. Now RIA says 7 from Baikonur and 8 from Vostochny. What happened to the other two Baikonur launches?
