Because tonight’s launch was delayed 🤷‍♂️ gotta get my dose still. This image was taken @ExploreSpaceKSC last week. Enjoy. #SpaceX #falconheavy #Falcon9

Why Did SpaceX's Falcon Heavy Appear to Curve Down and Booster Tracking

This is a question I get asked a lot in my launch videos, and Flight Club's excellent web-based simulator helps illustrate the answer.

Here's an excellent article by Trevor Mahlmann (ArsTechnica's photographer and a great friend of mine) on what it was like to shoot Falcon Heavy and Elon Musk.

Stitched the 2 vids together for people that can't stand Instagram's video player (ie: me).

Scratch that, HD version just posted on SpaceX's youtube page :

This video is incredible, but several scenes last only a fraction of a second.

I believe there are a bunch of stills that can be really appreciated individually, so I captured them:

This will play in the US, as it's the official release.  That also means it's $3.

Edit: The YouTube version was taken down for some reason (maybe wasn't intended to be sold?)  Here's the amazon version instead: https://www.amazon.com/Mars-Inside-SpaceX/dp/B07KFZPD1N  Hopefully that one *is* intended to exist.

Edit: To avoid an error when trying to play it, click the video title in the upper left hand corner instead of trying to play it from inside the forum.

looks like it's been pulled, even in the U.S.
