Paolo is the tallest person ever who has flown in a Soyuz, this could be a partial explanation. He could be more sensitive to orthostatic intolerance when going from a lying position to an upward position[SNIP]
Paolo Nespoli felt dizzy on his return from space but is fine now, the Italian astronaut said Thursday in his first interview since completing his mission."Apparently it's normal for people who are tall and thin like myself to have problems getting their heart pumping when they return to gravity after a long time in space," Nespoli explained by phone from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida.

History made with the first Soyuz undocking with a Shuttle on Station, ever!Well, first with *this* station, anyway... Soyuz undocked with a Shuttle on Mir, in 1995.And I can say I was on console for both...Cool. SO, which which did you find more memorable?STS-71, without a doubt... you never forget the first. Plus the shuttle undocking/flyaround so you had the three-body problem. Plus the Mir attitude control failure that forced a Soyuz redock while the shuttle was still flying around.

Plus there's just something different about Mir, no? ... ISS looks so purposeful, designed by international committee and agreements, a triumph of multilateral planning and enforced symmetry. The USOS, naturally, has echos of Shuttle's design aesthetic. Dragonfly was just ... crazy. Weird, and beautiful, and human, and alien, all at the same time. Next to her (him?), Atlantis was a white swan, a swan familiar to American eyes. The contrast, and the daring, of these old [cold] warriors together was just breathtaking. But that was in our joint infancy. ISS is all so growed-up now... -Alex
