SpaceX is targeting Thursday, January 11 for a Falcon 9 launch of 22 Starlink satellites to low-Earth orbit from Space Launch Complex 4 East (SLC-4E) at Vandenberg Space Force Base in California. Liftoff is targeted for 12:59 a.m. PT. If needed, an additional opportunity is also available on Friday, January 12 at 12:59 a.m. PT.

A live webcast of this mission will begin on X @SpaceX about five minutes prior to liftoff. Watch live.

This is the 18th flight for the first stage booster supporting this mission, which previously launched Crew-1, Crew-2, SXM-8, CRS-23, IXPE, Transporter-4, Transporter-5, Globalstar FM15, ISI EROS C-3, Korea 425 and seven Starlink missions. Following stage separation, the first stage will land on the Of Course I Still Love You droneship, which will be stationed in the Pacific Ocean.

Launched:

04 - January 8 - Peregrine 1 (Astrobotic) (LETS, LRA, MAG, MSolo, NIRVSS, NMLS, NSS, PILS, PITMS, SEAL) [CLPS-1, 2-AB], Celestis (CPAC) [Moon Lander to Sinus Viscositatis] - Vulcan-VC2S (V001) - Canaveral SLC-41 - 07:18:38.231 - partial success - abnormal payload separation

What "abnormal payload separation"? AFAIK the separation was flawless, as was the whole launch. Or did I miss something?

SpaceX, though, is still working on corrective actions identified from the second Starship test flight Nov. 18. On that flight the Super Heavy booster appeared to perform well, but exploded shortly after stage separation. The Starship upper stage triggered its flight termination system late in its burn.

SpaceX has released few details about what happened to both the booster and ship during that flight, and Jensen did not identify the corrective actions that SpaceX was undertaking. Closing out those actions, she said, was a condition for receiving an updated license. “We’re on track for that,” she said. “We’re expecting that license to come in February. So, it’s looking like Flight 3 will occur in February.”

In a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission Jan. 12, Momentus announced it did not plan to fly its next tug, Vigoride-7, on SpaceX’s Transporter-10 rideshare launch in March. The company said it called off the flight because of its “inability to support continuing operations for the expected launch date as a result of the Company’s limited liquidity and cash balance.”

ORLANDO, Fla. — Europe may shift the launch of a Copernicus Earth observation satellite to SpaceX’s Falcon 9 to avoid further delays in getting it into orbit.

At a press briefing Jan. 11, Simonetta Cheli, director of Earth observation at the European Space Agency, said the agency and the European Commission will decide in the near future whether to switch the Sentinel-1C radar imaging satellite from Vega C to Falcon 9.

ESA, she said, is providing information to the Commission “in terms of options for launch” of the spacecraft. “The Commission is assessing all elements and in the coming days and weeks, we’ll take a final decision considering a backup option of Falcon 9.”
...
ESA and the European Commission already have plans for as many as four Falcon 9 launches this year. ESA’s EarthCARE Earth science mission is scheduled for launch in May on a Falcon 9, while the Hera asteroid mission is planned to launch in October. The European Commission announced in November it was finalizing a contract with SpaceX to launch two pairs of Galileo navigation satellites on Falcon 9 rockets, tentatively scheduled for April and July.
