I was lucky enough to serve with LCDR Hobaugh at Group Duluth before he became CO of the Woodrush, where I had been before going down the dock. He was a fine officer and taught me a lot, about the Coast Guard, life and myself. The loss of the Fitzgerald shocked all of us who knew the Lake and many of those aboard that ship. I hope the damage to the protective tiles is not serious and can either be repaired or will not endanger the mission and the personnel. Astronaut Hobaugh has all my best wishes. I know this is a weak link to him, but seeing the connection to such a meaningful part of my past brightened my day. Fair winds and following seas, Coasty outI was lucky enough to serve, as well. I am wondering if we may know each other. I am Roy Harper.
