Yes, he's prolific in AI-generated videos, although he has recently created them (previously, he had only created travel videos). Here are some other SW-related videos, but I might encourage others to view some of his other AI creations. He must be good at prompting.  His scenes are just short enough not to let your eye note some weirdness in the detail.

Thanks for creating this thread, sanman; it will likely generate a lot of other Space-Related AI video posts.

Star Wars related:

Although not space-related, and it has a very low view count, I think this is very entertaining: Travels in the suitcase.

Testing in atmosphere, eh?  The poor eardrums of those standing by...

I wish they'd showed it zipping by faster in that final flight clip, instead of it slowing down as the camera panning stops. Generative AI has been known to distort motion like that.

Also, in the AT-AT video posted by catdlr, I wish they didn't show the workers wearing modern contemporary clothing from our world, and instead showed them wearing clothes more suitable to the imperials from Star Wars.

(Yeah, I know it's nitpicky on output that's otherwise so neat, but if you're going to spend all that effort, then these little details matter.)

The more detailed and precise the AI prompt, the better the generated video will be. It's more about developing AI prompt writing skills than CGI/VFX skills to achieve the same results.  ILM is exploring this as a means to reduce the cost of Effects.

Remember that these days you can do iterative prompting, to progressively build up / modify an image. This requires a state buffer to hold the intermediate product, and isn't typically available on free tiers of AI image generation services, but is increasingly available for paid subscription tiers.

Some easy music set in an AI-generated space.  As you mentioned above, a set of individual AI-prompted video segments is edited together with no meaning or coherence.

Just doing a quick riff off headlines, playing with Grok, but finding it to be less capable on image generation

Notice the obvious distortion in the arm, for example
(it used to be that explicit prompting, including negative prompting, was required to suppress such distortions, but nowadays automatic handling of such things is supposed to be standard fare - tho obviously still not in Grok's case)

So I took the insignia for the Crew-1 flight

https://www.nasa.gov/image-article/spacex-crew-1-official-crew-insignia/

And fed it to some generic online i2i site, and made this:

Just a riff off current headlines and dragon politics in Game of Thrones

Comedy video of post-BattleOfYavin/StarWars jokes which is apparently AI-generated, as per user catdlr and others

I'm really stunned that this stuff can be AI-generated and turn out looking so realistic. It's downright spooky. This will force a rearrangement of entire industries. I guess a lot of actors and models could be put out of work. Does anybody know what tools exist to detect counterfeit videos from AI?

Here's one I made using ChatGPT, but for free tier you're typically put in queue, and things take a long time to generate. Not the best way if you're trying to experiment or iterate. It didn't even render the Starship's actuated fin-flaps, nor did it do Starship & Cybertruck at proper scale. Also the Cybertruck's hood looks distorted.

...

This is insane. At this rate, what will we even need actors and film production artists for? Imagine the exposure level of their industry to this kind of disruptive change.

I once again mention AUCvS2N   (Area Under Curve vs Signal To Noise)
By AUC, I mean that the total output will increase because of this change lowering the bar to participation/production.
However, with any Tom-Dick-Harry now trying to be George Lucas or Steven Spielberg, then it means a lot of garbage will be produced, so lower Signal-to-Noise.

We're going to need more curation and vetting of content produced, because most ordinary people won't want to wade thru piles of junk just to find the gems worth watching.

(Maybe I should copy this post into the Death-of-Science-Fiction thread for more appropriate topical discussion)

This reminds me of these nerdy-witty comics like XKCD which combine witty dialogue lines with simple barebones low-effort drawing -- except now it's possible to turn your barebones low effort into sophisticated visuals, courtesy of AI, which takes care of all the heavy lifting to generate the video part. All that really needs to be supplied are again the right witty dialogue lines.

Although this may fall outside the primary subject matter, I am indeed familiar with them. The Wampa would serve as a superior candidate than Bigfoot (if this is only Star Wars canon). My discussion centers on the content curator's blending of Bigfoot with Star Wars and his funny amalgamation of characters in his recent videos. My comment was made in relation to the Nemoidians' remark at the outset of Episode I, which seems to have gone unnoticed by you.

Hah, I meant them (stormtroopers) not you - never mind, it was a throwaway remark.

Meanwhile, the Force must be with these guys, because they keep surviving

(EDIT: turns out all these stormtrooper Vlogs are from the same source, but being re-posted under different accounts)

Everybody's an instant artist these days - we're now in an era of art-on-demand, with JIT delivery

https://twitter.com/tedcruz/status/1935380503949090933

https://twitter.com/grok/status/1935385873748738129

And with it, we now have cognition-on-demand. Why aren't we generating spaceship-blueprints-on-demand?
What are the obstacles?

In principle, I should be able to generate the Deathstar on demand, using AI.
Building it would be a different matter, since I'd then need lots of AI-controlled bots for that.

A complete schematic of the Death Star has been published and is available on a YouTube video. However, when AI goes awry, it can generate a link to what may appear to be a home designer's joke on the Death Star Plans.

https://www.coohom.com/article/exploring-the-death-star-floor-layout

but here is a good starting point for the Deat Star plans:

https://www.google.com/search?q=death+star+blueprint&client=firefox-a&hs=BX6&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&channel=nts&source=lnms&sa=X&ei=CDRIVKC2EZaoyASOloCoBg&ved=0CAgQ_AUoAQ&biw=1920&bih=968&udm=2

Also, this quote:

An officer told his wife he was reassigned.

"Honey, I got a promotion. We're moving at the end of the month."

"Where to this time?"

"The Death Star."

"It sounds terrible."

One time, I was reading a textbook studying for a highschool biology test the next day. Later that night, I was asleep dreaming, and I dreamt that I was still studying for the biology test. I was looking at the page of the open textbook, but as I peered more closely, something was wrong: my brain couldn't generate the necessary detail to reproduce the textbook and fool me. So, suddenly my dream began collapsing and I woke up.

Like our brains, AI may try to generate an art scene that looks plausible. We can look at these shots of spaceships that look stylish, so that we can appreciate them from a distance. But we're not yet getting that fractal complexity that can allow us to zoom in more closely to see more accurate details. It would even be nice to have the artistic look still rooted in physics.

Can Generative AI successfully marry form with function? Can it combine artistic style with physics for better plausibility?

So here's a strange one in regards to art and music and chatbots and interviews...well its getting difficult to now tell if anything is real or not, even the experts are having trouble. At the start it was just an idea Alan Turing in 1949 talked of a test where a machine would be intelligent enough to fool a person as to what is real or mimic human behaviors equivalent to that of a human, there was an explosion of AI 'creativity' recently or 'Art' depending on what you define as art, it started to make pictures some wondered if it was a human doing something creative or abstract and maybe it could be a machine? We already have keyboard DJ samples that can fool ears, Virtual Piano Keyboard Synth already had good enough samples to fool most ears if the music was a real instrument or not. Perhaps only a trained musician would hear the difference in sampled tones. China and the USA then recently discussed a treaty the dangerous of fooling people by mimics recently deceased 'Loved Ones' an ability of 'Reviving The Dead' of sorts. Maybe old people would be fooled by an artifical 'ghost' that would mimc a dead daughter or son, a wife or husband that recently died maybe as fraudsters or spiritualists would attempt to communicate with spirits but this time it would be your tv or phone talking to you pretending to be a 'ghost' in some kind of faker, scams or pseudo-science. Since the early 2020s,  large language models such as ChatGPT have passed modern, rigorous variants of the Turing test, all these AI software and art and chatbot artificial intelligence it was then cloning voices and doing 'comedy' making its funny videos go viral. It can now make images and video that can fool people in the real world and it can now make 'A Band' and people don't know if the musicians and instruments really exist.

You won't even know if that 'Space Rock', Popmusic, Blues, Rap, Alternative rock, Newwave,  Psychedelia,Progressive rock or 'Space music' is real anymore and from what I hear its also doing a pretty good job at mimicry of classical music

Richard "Rick" Beato has a social media video channel, he is an American YouTuber, music professional, and educator who has worked as a musician, songwriter, audio engineer and record producer since the early 1980

He was most famous for a viral video years ago with his son named Dylan who has 'perfect pitch'

So It Begins...Is This A Real Band Or AI?
Rick Beato

In this episode I dissect a song by the band The Velvet Sundown that may or may not be AI, and discuss what this means for the future of music.

The various renders may be slightly inconsistent with each other (the beacon device looks different in each render) but they do all generally conform to the scene description:

Here is an AI-generated video on how Humans will populate Venus:

The First 10,000 Days on Venus (Colonizing the Yellow Clouds)

Jul 5, 2025
This is a sci-fi documentary looking at a timelapse of the first 10,000 days on Venus, and the colonization of the yellow planet. Showing the expanding colony over the years, the future science of space exploration, and future technology.

Personal inspiration in creating this Venus space mission video comes from: the movie Interstellar, The Expanse TV show, and Carl Sagan’s Cosmos TV show.

Other topics in the video include: how could a Venus colony be built, how to float structures in Venus's dense atmosphere, the challenges of building on Venus such as the Sulfuric acid atmosphere and the strong wind, and what life would be like on a Venus floating colony.

MMO in Video Games = massively multiplayer online role-playing games

'Hear Me Out: AI Has A Place In MMOs'
https://www.mmobomb.com/hear-me-out-ai-place-mmos
Quote
AI should strictly handle those tedious, repetitive tasks that developers must take care of anyways: asset generation, environment testing, gameplay balancing, backend automation, etc. By taking care of the less glamorous but necessary work, more time is freed up for developers to focus on the fun stuff that really brings these massive worlds to life. Because remember that MMOs are enormous undertakings.

When it comes to the heart and soul of an MMO — the rich stories, memorable characters, and immersive worlds — that magic has to come from people. AI can’t capture that human spark, and frankly, it shouldn’t even try. In fact, I wouldn’t even let AI write quests.

Letting AI take the reins on creative elements risks flattening the unique flavors that make each MMO stand out. Part of what makes exploring these worlds so rewarding is knowing that real people crafted them — their humor, their quirks, their vision for what makes a unreal setting feel real. And trust me, players notice when something feels cookie-cutter or soulless.

Yeah, I can see pitch videos galore from this. The bar will be raised - kids will be expected to make their own Saturday morning cartoons and not just watch them.
As more processing power becomes available on tap, and these capabilities become commoditized, commonplace and ubiquitous, we'll be able to mine every last vestige of our childhoods, for better or for worse. Maybe AI will make things better than how we remember them.

We'd conceivably be able to resurrect any show we loved, and generate endless episodes of it for endless variety. The crossovers we always wanted but never got. Etc, etc.
It was being said that CG de-aging could keep older actors employed -- but we're now at the point where we'd just synthesize them completely, lock, stock, and barrel.

Just as AI can solve math or physics problems more quickly than we can, I wonder if it will even become more tasteful and more artistic than we can be? (according to certain styles, of course, since it's all in the eye of the beholder)

The company Topaz Labs has recently incorporated Diffusion Models into their product Topaz Enhance, allowing them to be used even for things like resolution upscaling to improve results. Someone seems to have posted their attempts with this:

And yet Disney with a vastly larger budget still couldn't come up with enough backstory to help Daisy Ridley play Rey in the 3rd Star Wars trilogy

It seems to be slowly getting 'comedy' but it kind of reminds me of Star Trek Episodes of Commander Data trying out 'comedy' he prompt to Artificial machine and Chatbot it has turned creativity the Paintings the Songs and Poetry into a formulae that creates 'art'

but then again 'Comedy' and what passes as bad art or good art or great art is often 'subjective' and depends on personal tastes...but AI has already transformed the industry

Here - I've uploaded to Youtube for more convenient listening:

Not bad results for a measly 10 minutes of work (and by 'work', I mean AI did the work while I sat and waited)
There's no way that even a crack team of professional artists can match the speed and efficacy of AI content-generation.

I'd simply asked Grok to make an upbeat pop song about our NASAspaceflight forum discussions, and that's what it came up with:

--------------------------------

Song Title: Starbound Chats

[Verse 1]
Logging in at the break of dawn,
NASAspaceflight, where dreams are drawn.
Threads are buzzing, the news is hot,
Rockets risin’ to stars we’ve got.
From Falcon 9 to Starship’s roar,
We’re geekin’ out, we’re wantin’ more.
Post by post, we’re in the zone,
This forum’s where we call our home.

[Chorus]
Starbound chats, we’re lightin’ up the night,
Talkin’ space, yeah, everything’s alright.
On NASAspaceflight, we’re ridin’ high,
Dreamin’ big ‘bout the cosmic sky.
From Mars to moons, we’re typin’ away,
Fuelin’ hopes for a brand-new day.
Starbound chats, our hearts ignite,
Together we soar on NASAspaceflight!

[Verse 2]
Speculatin’ ‘bout that next launch date,
Starlink swarms or a lunar gate.
Elon’s tweets got us all in a spin,
Refresh the page, let the fun begin.
Engineers and fans, we’re all the same,
Chasin’ updates in this space race game.
From T-minus zero to the payload’s climb,
We’re glued to the screen every single time.

[Chorus]
Starbound chats, we’re lightin’ up the night,
Talkin’ space, yeah, everything’s alright.
On NASAspaceflight, we’re ridin’ high,
Dreamin’ big ‘bout the cosmic sky.
From Mars to moons, we’re typin’ away,
Fuelin’ hopes for a brand-new day.
Starbound chats, our hearts ignite,
Together we soar on NASAspaceflight!

[Bridge]
Countin’ down with the livestream glow,
Payloads up, where they gonna go?
Forum’s alive with a cosmic spark,
We’re all explorers in the digital dark.
From Artemis dreams to a Martian base,
We’re plannin’ the future of the human race.
Hit that post, let the passion fly,
NASAspaceflight takes us to the sky!

[Chorus]
Starbound chats, we’re lightin’ up the night,
Talkin’ space, yeah, everything’s alright.
On NASAspaceflight, we’re ridin’ high,
Dreamin’ big ‘bout the cosmic sky.
From Mars to moons, we’re typin’ away,
Fuelin’ hopes for a brand-new day.
Starbound chats, our hearts ignite,
Together we soar on NASAspaceflight!

[Outro]
Oh-oh-oh, NASAspaceflight,
Oh-oh-oh, we’re reachin’ for the light!
On NASAspaceflight!

Note: all content was AI-generated, from song title & lyrics to musical stylization with vocals as well as cover art, and I made no modifications to any of the output

Imagine Elvis being featured in an episode where he plays a cocky & charming young Lieutenant.
Maybe a character something like Starbuck?
If Nimoy could serenade the ladies onscreen, then surely Presley would bowl everyone over.

I am impressed at how fast AI moves. there is a lot of Artificially made junk art out there, the term "slop" as a descriptor for low-grade AI material but it does keep getting better. There are some Low merit images and animated vids, bad pop songs that sound like every other bad song and silly clones of voice but it keeps getting betetr. It's becoming difficult to tell what is made by a human and what is made by AI.

I'm not saying you have to like it

they are already forming groups for these AI movies that praise them in ceremony, giving out film awards

a lot of it is terrible but there might be something in it, the pose, the use of tone color, the frame of picture but its a lot of parroting other at on the web, monkey-see-monkey-do

soon there will be many AI painting awards, AI song awards, AI film awards

yes people are correct to label it 'AI slop' but this technology wont go away

I get a lot of AI music and audio voice pop up with illustration, audio books, AI art and fan faction popping up, Grimdark worse than Dystopia sometimes with dark humor it is a subgenre of entertainment fiction with a style that is depressive. Grim Dark scifi might have some relation to tv dramas, GoT, Dark fantasy, also called fantasy horror, violent and especially dark usch as Elden Ring, Dragon's Crown and Guillermo del Toro's fantasy film Pan's Labyrinth

'Space Marines Invade Pandora! - Avatar vs Warhammer 40k'

in a board game worse than some of the darkest Star Wars, Blade Runner, Marvel DC and Star Trek stories there is strategy game Warhammer 40,000 which states "In the grim darkness of the far future there is only war."

People class 'Lost' as scifi but I dont think its scifi at all. I'm glad I didnt waste much time on this tv show, the pilot was entertaining or first few episodes were good after they started to push more mystic voodoo, magic creature monsters, religion mumbo jumbo I turned off.  I wasnt a big fan of the Jeffrey Lieber, J J Abrams, Lindelof flashback or flashforward style of story telling either.

AI fixes lost
but for some reason "Sawyer" looks like a Wrestler or Lou Ferrigno 'Hulk'

I asked AI to make a better ending to LOST

Parodongs

this one could be suitable for reading utopian books, scifi Culture Series by Iain M. Banks, the Classic Star Trek exploration style stuff

People are able to create very interesting music with these prompts, AI does almost every background music style, Bossa nova for some novel about a trip in South America, you can find 'Horror' genre ambient music, period era music or folk style for Fantasy books Spanish, Greek, Indian, Chinese Scottish etc If you are reading some 'Dark Tech' scifi you can find Dystopia Cyberpunk ambient chords with city soundscape, you can find AI trying to paint old Jazz Noir Saxophone Music into the landscapes similar to that of old crime novels and film noir style imagery in the background.

The Glass Starship: Space Voyage Back to Earth | AI 4K — Retrofutura

Quote
Jan 17, 2026  1 product
A visual hymn to the long voyage home. From the frozen, diamond-dust colonies of Europa to the warm embrace of Earth, this Retrofuturistic journey offers a sanctuary among the stars.

In this timeline, space travel retained the dignity of the golden age of ocean liners. No turbulence, no urgency. Only glorious nebulae, stars, planets, space fauna and the elegance of Art Nouveau interiors. Experience the nostalgia of leaving the Jovian frontier and the quiet triumph of returning to the blue planet.

🎥 Watch till the end to witness the majestic arrival back at Earth, a visual reward that concludes this journey of elegance and quiet wonder.

This one is more "Space" related and from another YouTube channel. Like the other, it's designed to keep you from working.

We must be living in the wrong universe if AI can think of places like this?
