Again, sorry if this is the wrong place to put this or anything, it's just that in previous forums there's a custom of writing a special First Post. Anyway, hello! I love all things space travel, be it resource management in a service module (The Apollo 13 checklists (you can read them at NASA.gov) are really interesting, particularly the one where they power up the CSM in preparation for reentry), launch vehicle design (which I kind-of do as a hobby) or probe computer systems.  Anyway, that's about it! Hello!

Welcome to the forum. A friendly space engineer and entrepreneur who posts on here regularly once said: the best way to learn anything is to proudly proclaim your ignorant opinion on the Internet and graciously receive the wrath of people more experienced than yourself. This is a great place to do it :)
Human spaceflight is basically just LARPing now.

Yeah I was looking for a welcome thread myself a couple of days, didn't find one, and just decided to sneakingly start posting because I didn't want to do what you are doing. It felt like I was sneaking into a line at an amusement park ;)

That should be the tagline of this website lol

And don't let the wrath part scare you off. It can contain great info (plus just wrath). There is a tremendous wealth of information and experience here. I'm a child of the Sputnik days and this place teaches me everyday about the past, present, and future.

Once you settle in, think about an L2 subscription. It unlocks even more!

What was it like to see a man step on the moon, live? My dream is to either land on Mars or at least to watch someone do it on TV.

Long time reader. Joined the forum for L2 access so seemed rude not to say hi!   Can't imagine I'll post much given the breadth of knowledge on here.   My awesome contact centre planning skills probably makes me a shoe in for a place on Ark B though. :-)

Me out on a bike ride with one kids. Don't even ask why she's wearing ears...
