I haven't checked it, but it seemed to me that the rate of reboosts didn't change drastically since the ATV reboosts.
The number of reboosts isn't a going to be an accurate measure, the reboosts almost always serve double duty tweaking the orbit for visiting vehicles. Total dV would be a more useful measure.

The ISS status reports include mean altitude loss/gain.
Aug 6: "Mean altitude loss in the last 24 hours -- 56 m"
June 1 (before the big boosts): "Mean altitude loss in the last 24 hours -- 163 m"

Note that this isn't necessarily and apples-to-apples comparison of drag, ISS attitude and other activities can influence it.

Also, we are in a period of high solar activity. In addition to supporting assembly, the lower altitude was timed to coincide with the less active part of the solar cycle.

The reduction in drag immediately following the big reboost is easy to see from the Heavens-Above ISS height plot.

I don't understand why they still need Progress-assisted reboosts at this high altitude

Reboosts are required for preparation of ISS orbit to spacecrafts docking and landing. For example, reboost on August 31st will be preparation to Soyuz TMA-21 landing, another one in September is for Soyuz TMA-22 docking.

The reboost of ISS orbit, which was planned on August 31st, was divided on two maneuvers with unknown dates for now. The purpose of the first maneuver will be a determination of actual thrust of Progress M-12M engines for a performing of next reboosts more precisely.

This plan is canceled, but it can be used for next Progresses, which will dock to Zvezda module (Progress M-17M, for example).

I noticed on another thread (http://forum.nasaspaceflight.com/index.php?topic=26182.msg784592;boardseen#new) a diagram showing the final configuration of the RS, with Pirs at the Nadir port of the MLM.

Sure that's not the plan, but just checking?

No, I don't think that's the plan (I wouldn't trust that graphic too much since it has several inaccuracies).

Last I heard, the Node Module is planned to go on MLM Nadir.

Thanks anik - according to this schedule, the next docking to SM Aft will be ATV-3! :o

Also of note - if Soyuz TMA-21 undocks on September 19, and Progress M-10M undocks on October 13, that will leave just one Russian vehicle (Soyuz TMA-02M) docked to the RS!

Anik, the following line should be deleted from the schedule, since Progress M-12M is lost:

March 5 - Progress M-12M undocking (from Zvezda)

I am surprised that Progress M-13M will dock to Pirs... I thought that it would take the place of Progress M-12M on Zvezda, which would be better for reboosts (and MMOD shielding).
