I always thought that Glenn and Leonov would be a crew to consider....

Also on Monday 31 August 2015, David Livingston of The Space Show interviewed Kathy Lueders (NASA's Commercial Crew Program Manager). 

A few technical tidbits from this interview:

- Orbital demonstration test from Boeing CST-100 will carry two people: one from Boeing and one from NASA.
- Demonstration mission from SpaceX Dragon 2 will carry two people: both from NASA

So based on the selected NASA astronauts, my bet goes to Ferguson-Hurley for Starliner-01.  They worked together on STS-135

And Boe-Behnken for DragonV2-01.   Boe because he was the other pilot, and Behnken for no special reason (because he was the previous Chief Astronaut?)

“I don’t know. Sure I’d like to go to space again, who wouldn’t like to go to space,” Ferguson mused, as we chuckled.

“But it’s a business for young, steely eyed missile men,” he replied, taking himself out of the running. … Maybe …

“I think we could pry someone out of NASA and convince them to work for Boeing to fly a test flight. I wouldn’t be surprised if the phone starts ringing here in the next few months looking for someone.”

I wouldn't be surprised to see a one man test flight. Mission control can act as the second man to fly the craft robotically if need be.

I'd be very surprised.

The workload for one crew member would be pretty high. It'd also send a bad message about confidence.

Even if Ferguson doesn't fly, his astro wings should be on board.

This thread may be seven years old, but NASA has announced that Barry E. Wilmore and Sunita Williams will the crew of the first manned Boeing Starliner flight (Michael Fincke has been designated to train as the backup spacecraft commander for the CFT mission),
