Cross-linking a post by user SpacePak from another thread that has important information on the PakTes-1A satellite.

In other news PRSS-1 & PakTes-1A will now not be dual launched till June - September time.
.
.
.
.

The tentative launch schedule for PRSS-1 is for June 2018, but obviously there *could* be delays so it will be around June to September. I can't be anymore specific about this.

Pakistan Technology Evaluation Satellite or PAKTES-1A is a 300 kg low to medium E/O remote sensing satellite indigenously developed by Suparco but with much of the payload subcontracted to South Africa's 'Space Advisory Company'. You can find more info here

https://www.scribd.com/document/306131770/Print

There will be a PakTes-1B satellite but this is in the very early planning stages.

CZ-2C SMA s/n Y3, which will be used for this launch, has passed review ahead of shipping out - a good indication that the launch is still scheduled for June.

Note that might be the or one of the last SMA flights as YZ-1B upper stage will be replacing all CZ-2C upper stages sometime this year or early next year..

Do we know what orbit will they go into per Pakistani sources? Also did the local media report on the current status of the satellites?

More on that later but there are reports from Chinese forum members that named Jiuquan as the launch site too.

See my posts in the Chinese schedule thread - there is a NOTAM zone but Chinese sources seems to exclude this as for PRSS-1.

Comparing NOTAMed areas for this one (yellow) and for CZ-2D launch of Jilin-1 on Oct 7, 2015 (red)

Comparing NOTAMed areas for this one (yellow) and for CZ-2D launch of Jilin-1 on Oct 7, 2015 (red)

blue = this notam, red = Shijian-11-03 to Shijian-11-08 launched on lm2C from jslc between 7july2011 - 27oct2014. similarly sized box but bit closer to LC

--------------------------------------------------

Edit: Looked through some lm2D notams and they are fairly constant in their long thin shape (the white odd one out is gaofen-9)
