I did a couple of photoshops to give me an idea of what Icarus would have looked like if it had been needed.  Note which mobile launcher is seen here!

As a joint US/USSR mission, your spacecraft and launcher should also have a nod to the USSR. Perhaps also a United Nations logo?

I was going to print out a a "CCCP" and add it to the CSM Interceptor.  But I was out of decal film.

Hey Ron,
cool job that you have done so far, very interesting and impressive.
I think it's not so easy to photograph these long slender models, right?

A few more models finished up on my day off. Posing with my new Saturn V, and my older Falcon 9 and Gemini Titan is the new USAF MOL Titan III. It is a resin kit from Realspace Models. And also the Atlas V that I built long ago with the Starliner was updated with parts that Glenn sent me. The newest version of the rocket has two SRBs and a "mini-skirt" under the capsule. Next up is a Gemini and Agena in 1/48 scale.

Left to right: Falcon 9, Atlas V with Starliner, Titan III MOL and Gemini Titan with the big Saturn V in the rear. All are the same scale at 1/144.

A tale of two Geminis: The test launch of the USAF Gemini-B and Manned Orbital Laboratory next to NASA's Gemini-Titan.

The updated Atlas V-Starliner.

Now these Models take me back in Time.  I think I had 2 Mercury Rockets, Red Stone & Atlas...At Least 4 Gemini had to Replicate Vl & Vll Flights....and 1 Huge Saturn Stack that I Never got around to finish...Donated these Models & Kits to a Younger Cousin.. Maybe I'll Look around and see what's Available at the Model Toy Store ...Lots of Time on my hands lately..

Great Models Ronpur

I am working on a new model project. A 1/48 scale model of Gemini 12 docked to an Agena with an astronaut doing an EVA. The astronaut in this case, is of course, Buzz Aldrin. I am using Realspace Model's update kit for the old Revell Gemini model and his Agena. The spacewalking astronaut is a 3D printed figure.

Photo 1: Agena is mostly assembled, and I have begun to accurize the Gemini.

Photo 2:Adapter has corrected parts attached and I detailed the inside of the capsule on the pilots side since the hatch will be open.

Photo 3:The interior of the hatch is detailed too, and Buzz is being painted. You can't see Jim Lovell, because he is in his seat already!

Hey Rompur, your little rocket museum never cease to amaze me. You must have one hell of a big house to shelter all those rockets (albeit a case could be made that rockets are essentially vertical, hence taking much less surface area than aircrafts :p  )

Do you have a complete list of all your rocket models ?

No, but I plan to get them all photographed in the near future and post them here.  And my house isn't big, but it is my only hobby these days.  And yes, they do fit on the tops of things like the dvd shelves very nicely.

Get the newer Skylab version.  It has the Apollo upper stage as well as Skylab.  And it is usually cheaper!!

Still working on the Gemini 12/Agena model.

1: Base coats are on the Gemini spacecraft. The capsule is painted dark blue, with black window tint to make it even darker. Mercury and Gemini spacecraft were never black, but finding the real color has been tough. I usually make them very dark gray.

2:Buzz Aldrin's empty seat with some of the detail I added, seat belts and the ejection handle.

3:Jim Lovell in his seat. Some over spray leaked into the hatch when the tape blew off while spraying. I will have to fix that.
