Apollo 6 50th Anniversary
« on: 04/04/2018 09:55 AM »
Today is the 50th Anniversary of the Apollo 6 Saturn V test.  I may be heading to Fernbank later today to go see it with friends and family.

Thanks for posting the note on this.   If I had been home, I'd definitely have gone by.

The amazing thing is that after all the problems on this flight (1st stage pogo, two engines out in second stage) NASA flew to the moon on the next Saturn V launch.

Glad to see this remembered.  A couple of friends and I visited the US Space and Rocket Center last November on the Apollo 4 (SA-501) anniversary and walked around under the Saturn V (SA-500) displayed there.  As far as we could tell we were the only ones who remembered the significance of the date.

Any COLOR film of the last few minutes of the 502 countdown and flight through S-1-C -S-II staging?

It's amazing that 50 years have passed, I hope they make another early discovery as big as that one.

Today is the 50th Anniversary of the Apollo 6 Saturn V test.  I may be heading to Fernbank later today to go see it with friends and family.
