SLS/Artemis 1: Running late because of unrelated snags, NASA's towering SLS moon rocket, perched atop an iconic crawler-transporter, began inching its way off pad 39B and back toward the Vehicle Assembly Building at 4:12am EDT (0812 UTC)

SLS/Artemis 1: Once back in the hangar, engineers will replace a suspect seal in a liquid hydrogen quick-disconnect fitting and begin readying the rocket for another trip back out to the pad and launch on its maiden flight in late August

With Launch Complex 39A — the past site of Apollo and Shuttle, the current home of Falcon, and the future launchpad of Starship — as a backdrop, NASA’s Space Launch System and Artemis I are seen returning to the Vehicle Assembly Building this morning.

SLS/Artemis 1 (8:45am EDT, 1245 UTC): 4-and-a-half hours after getting underway, the crawler-transporter carries the SLS rocket  in front of launch complex 39A and makes a glacial right-hand turn, from south to southwest, to head for the VAB
