Besides launching @NASA_Orion to the lunar vicinity, our #RL10 engine will also help send 11 Cubesats to the Moon (pictured inside the Orion adapter ring). The RL10 will perform 2 burns: 1 to circularize Orion’s orbit & a 2nd to push Orion out of Earth’s orbit.

Was there ever any update on which cubesats, if any, got recharged while they were recently in the VAB?

Yes.  The cubesats were recharged when the SLS was rolled back for hurricane Ian.

Whatever happened with the FTS battery situation?  I know they changed them but did they get agreement on a longer lifetime too?

No. The 25-day certification still stands.

So out of curiosity during the slow-moving countdown parts: why are there some brackets (?) on the engine section's boattail that appear to be just primed, bare metal, as opposed to having received paint or other more substantive TPS? I'm referring to the greenish rectangular areas with some bolt heads sticking out.

Seems (crossing fingers, toes, touching wood & iron, and throwing tetraleaved clovers on a horseshoe sprinkled with salt over my shoulder) they're past the point where leaks had already manifested themselves in prior fuelings?

Concur. If they've made it into fast fill of LH2 they seem to be over the hurdle. For this tanking, at least!  ;D

Just putting this in the thread:

The current no earlier than (NET) launch date for Artemis I is Wednesday, Nov. 16 within a 120-minute window that opens at 1:04:00 AM EST (06:04:00 UTC).

Man, I hope it hits the start of the window ... I gotta work tomorrow! (US Central time here). I can nap until launch and initial orbit, then go back to bed and catch most of my usual sleep before work. If they hold into the window and it extends any length of time, I'm going to be wrecked tomorrow.

It's hell getting old, kids.

I found links to the NASA UHD 4K 60 fps feeds if y'all want better quality than the NASA YouTube stream.

The Red Crew has arrived at Pad 39B to torque the bolt. Just one problem: they are not dressed in red! They don't even have red hardhats! Sucks.

That's alright, the ICE Team of the shuttle days were actually 37ºC.

Nail says it the red crew operation is, "likely to eat into the launch window."

What is the minimum amount of LH2 they need in the tank to launch safely? What if the replenish valve is serious and they can't fix it? Can they do a slow fill to 100% at the very end and launch?

Derroll Nail just mentioned that in "stop flow" they are not just out of replenish mode but are also not in engine bleed.

He has a hot mic on air. Nuts were visibly loose.

I wonder if they can override that interlock.  Technically the replenish doesn't need to be happening if the rocket is full just before launch right? Could they develop a workaround procedure to circumvent this?
