As far as I can make out there is no water spray or deluge on launch mount deck. Has anyone noticed anything that would accomplish this? The deck appears to get cooked at launch. I find this omission somewhat odd. Any ideas why they chose not to? granted the plates are quite thick.

I remember there being doubts about the holes' existence on pad 1's plate as well almost right up to its first test spray.

Shaun Gisler@lifeatstagezerofound the tank they brought in last night next to a big pile of geotextile
Niall-Ian Anderson@INiallAndersonThat's a lot of Geotextile and much more than Pad 1 could ever need... are SpaceX close to getting their Launch Site Expansion approval? 📸: @RGVaerialphotos
Amy Doehring@mymatrixplugLive cameras should pick it up in about an hour.
StarbaseTracking@TrackingTheSB·Just now at Pad 2, SpaceX is seemingly flushing out some of the water piping. This may be the DSS system for this pad.
Starbase This Week (2026-01-25) | Written by @KangasSpacerooVehicles continue to be built, tested, and lifted back off of hardware? The SpaceX grind never sleeps. Welcome to this week’s Starbase This Week.
Launch Site & ASUNot much really happened at the Launch Site this week. Pad 2 continues to be brought towards operational status, and Pad 1 continues in its refitting process.Over at the ASU, another part was delivered.
ChromeKiwi@AshleyKillip·Good to finally see more water testing being done on the Pad 2 launch mount. Looks like the DSS system (detonation suppression system) to prevent the mixing of liquid oxygen and methane gas creating an explosive atmosphere under the booser during testing and launches.
Elisar Priel@ENNEPS·2mAs first launch from Starbase Pad 2 gets closer by the day, workers performed a test of the "FireX" system, one more in a series of tests to get the pad to be approved for operational use.
