For anyone interested, here's a spec sheet on Fondag RS. I was curious about compressive strength and set time. Nothing too special there.

Btw, spraying a nice thick layer of shotcrete that is >> 10,000 psi compressive strength, on the spalled tower base is easy, quick and relatively cheap. If the material and equipment were available (I'm sure it is) they could have the tower coated before Thanksgiving and ready for abuse by next week. This stuff has been around for a very long time and isn't unusual at all.

Also, here's a link to an article about high strength shotcrete with links to many others if anyone wants to go down that rabbit hole.

Some interesting rainy day deliveries today as well. Looks like more cladding for the OLIT. This will go up to protect the pipes, electronics, and mechanics of the launch tower.

During a break in the showers at #Starbase a nosecone shuffle happened by tent 3. We have Ship 25 overlooking as the nosecones for S28 & S29 took a peek outside while S30 nosecone hung out in back.

Always wondered, why are the nosecones matte instead of polished like the rings?

Right (S29?) nose does indeed have tile pins installed, just not as extensive coverage towards the leeward side.

For anyone interested, here's a spec sheet on Fondag RS. ...

Quote
FONDAG® RS packaging is designed to protect it  from humidity. However, as with all prepackaged concrete, it is recommended that FONDAG® RS not be placed outdoors or in direct contact with the ground. When correctly stored in dry conditions, the properties of FONDAG® RS will remain within specification limit for at least 6 months. In most cases, its properties will be retained for over a year.

Given the current conditions, I hope that they've got that stuff poured by now.  It was sitting out in canvas totes on top of pallets, with nothing covering it.

Finally the weather over #Starbase improves and #SpaceX are able to resume work. The elevator was up and down all night, lifts were seen at the #OLM and cladding has been added to the #OLIT, covering the lower status light entirely. @LabPadre #Rover2Cam.

Some photos from my 11/23/22 visit to Starbase, TX. Lots of work under, on and around the Orbital Launch Mount. A new tent set up near the OLM and protective cladding being added to the tower.

Tower cladding, work under Booster 7 and some very interesting work being done on Starship 24 sitting on sub orbital test pad B.

Looks like they built the tent to put the Rondag under cover.  First pic shows it still outside on pallets.  Second pic it's gone.

Yep, Rondag work seems to be finishing up as the tent started to come down this morning, should be all cleared out soon for engine testing early next week.

There used to be cams in the dunes looking at the launch mount.  Sure wish someone would put one back full time. The daily photographers don't seem to go out there much anymore either.  I know the weather has been bad, but this lack of view predates the current rain.

Maybe the cams need solar power to keep running.  That might explain it.

If I recall correctly everyone was informed to remove the stated cameras out of the sensitive areas they had them in. SpaceX and the other involved parties worked to establish approved long term camera locations and their approved boundaries. This happened during the NEPA Act process. The dunes were determined to be off limits to just about everything.

Some government crew just put up a big sign saying "This is not a SpaceX viewing area". SpaceX doesn't worry too much about people on public land taking snapshots, but they get a little antsy when people they don't know start leaving cameras in the dunes for testing. I was just talking to one of them about the old silver minivan.

Or not.  Pic in the updates thread from yesterday shows it still sitting there.

Don't count on any engine testing that soon.

Final parts of the tent were cleared out last night, now just tidying up the pad before testing next week.

Crispy OLM after the 11 engine, ~13 second static fire test. Not unexpected, but still gonna need a new coat of paint and such. Couldn't really see how the new concrete pad held up.

(1/4) Hey #StarshipAddicts, here's a little update about the status of exterior cladding on the Orbital Launch Integration tower.

As of today, the first 3 levels of the OLIT have been covered on the sides facing the Launch Mount.

What is the status for the rest of the tower?

https://twitter.com/csi_starbase/status/1598151968287260673

Quote
(2/4) More paneling for the tower has been spotted by @RGVaerialphotos at the Massey's site which is owned by @SpaceX.

As shown in this image, there are 18 bundles of tower cladding. Each bundle has 9 panels. There are a total of 162 center panels on site already.

twitter.com/csi_starbase/status/1598151970120175616

Quote
(3/4) Each level of the tower requires 4 center panels. Doing a little math...

Panels Available =162
Number of sublevels on OLIT = 24
Remaining levels without cladding = 21
Panels Needed for each side OLIT after bottom 3 levels are covered = 84

https://twitter.com/csi_starbase/status/1598151972129243137

Quote
(4/4) It makes sense to put solid paneling on these two sides of the tower. Especially since a large portion of the ~1,000m tall debris cloud passes through the open structure during Static Fire testing.

It will look amazing when its complete, however they aren't in a rush.
