The launch of CartoSat-2 was delayed to January 2007. See at http://www.dnaindia.com/report.asp?NewsID=1060457 .

Just to clarify things a bit, which launches are yet scheduled for 2006 and which for 2007?

I think there are no more indian launches schedule for 2006. For a long time now that I don't listen anything about the Agile sat launch ( http://www.agile.rm.iasf.cnr.it and http://www.isro.org/rep2005/SpaceTransport.htm).

For 2007 I have:

January - PSLV-C7 - CastoSat-2; SRE-1; Lapan-Tubsat
March - PSLV - X-Sat
March - PSLV - TechSAR
June 30 - PSLV - Oceansat-2; CanX-2; AAU-Cubsat 2; Cute-1.7; APD-2; Compass-1; Delfi-C3; SEEDS-2
July - GSLV - Insat-3D
July - GSLV - Insat-4CR
September - GSLV - Uragan-M7 (GLONASS)
September - GSLV - Healthsat; Tauvex
September - GSLV - Insat-4D

This is a compilation of informations from various sources.

I thought it would be nice to bring this one to the top again, maybe someone can edit the title of the thread to include 2007. PSLV-C7 has launched succesfully and brought one of its payloads down to earth as planned. At the link there is additional info on the Oceansat-2 launch, now scheduled for year end 2007.

Taking into account the news posted here ( http://www.hindu.com/2007/04/24/stories/2007042414931500.htm ) there will be three more launches from India until the end of 2007.

Before the last successful launches I had this schedule:

January - PSLV-C7 - CastoSat-2; SRE-1; Lapan-Tubsat
March - PSLV - X-Sat
March - PSLV - TechSAR
June 30 - PSLV - Oceansat-2; CanX-2; AAU-Cubsat 2; Cute-1.7; APD-2; Compass-1; Delfi-C3; SEEDS-2
July - GSLV - Insat-3D
July - GSLV - Insat-4CR
September - GSLV - Uragan-M7 (GLONASS)
September - GSLV - Healthsat; Tauvex
September - GSLV - Insat-4D

The latest news says that there will be one launch by GSLV with Insat-4CR and two more PSLV's, with one carrying various satellites. So from the schedule above we can exclude the successful launches and the GSLV launches. We now have:

March - PSLV - X-Sat
March - PSLV - TechSAR
June 30 - PSLV - Oceansat-2; CanX-2; AAU-Cubsat 2; Cute-1.7; APD-2; Compass-1; Delfi-C3; SEEDS-2
July - GSLV - Insat-4CR

A news posted January 21st 2007, says that Oceansat-2 would be launched at the end of 2007. Oceansat-2 was already listed to be launched together with some small sats. The more recent news say that this small sats are going to be launched with Cartosat-2A. I think that this is an error and that the satellite to be launched is indeed the Oceansat-2.

I couldn't find any info about the X-Sat and some sources point that the Isreali TechSAR will be launched by PSLV this year.

So, I think that we can say that the Indian launch schedule for the rest of 2007 will be:

June 30 - PSLV - Oceansat-2; CanX-2; AAU-Cubsat 2; Cute-1.7; APD-2; Compass-1; Delfi-C3; SEEDS-2
July ? - GSLV - Insat-4CR
????? - PSLV - TechSAR

According to this page http://www.utias-sfl.net/nanosatellites/CanX2/ the CanX-2 launch will take plave on June 30th, 2007.

Any help? Thanks!

As per todays this article, ( http://www.hindu.com/2007/04/25/stories/2007042501891500.htm ) Israeli Polaris launch is in August and Canadian Satellites before this year end, nothing it talked about GSLV's , I wonder why ISRO is not pushing its GLSV since it has its own cryogenic in hand,  apparently the MK3 version of GLSV will come online within a year I guess.

Also I wonder which satellite is ISRO planning to put with the polaris as it weighs only 300 kg.

May be, the above mentioned X-Sat is  the Agile?

No. X-Sat is a singaporean micro-satellite, which will be a piggy-back payload:

This article speaks about a number of new subversions of the PSLV to fly in the future. One with more powerfull strap-ons for their Moon mission and 3 stage version that is supposed to fly in 2010.

So, with this new informations the Indian launch schedule for the rest of 2007 will be:

August - PSLV-C9 (PSLV-CA) - Polaris
????? - GSLV-F03 - Insat-4CR
????? - PSLV-C10 (PSLV-CA) - Cartosat-2A; CanX-2; AAU-Cubsat 2; Cute-1.7; APD-2; Compass-1; Delfi-C3; SEEDS-2

So, what happen to Oceansat-2? Aren't they confusing this?

In here http://www.isro.org/rep2006/EOS%20System.htm they only talk of Cartosat-1 and Cartosat-2. The Cartosat-2 was launched by PSLV-C7 on January 10th this year.

Apparently there is no Cartosat-2A. According to the ISRO Decade plan website:
http://isro.org/decade_plan.htm

and the ISRO 2007 report on Earth Observation Projects
http://www.isro.org/rep2007/Earth%20Observation.htm

There is only Oceansat-2 and RISAT and no Cartosat-2A in the Earth Imaging area.

In the PSLV platform there are C9, C10 and C11 planeed for 07-08. From what i have seen (new reports) here are the launches for 2007

August - PSLV-C9 (PSLV-CA) - Polaris
July - GSLV-F03 - Insat-4CR
30 June - PSLV-C10 (PSLV-CA) - Oceansat-2; CanX-2; AAU-Cubsat 2; Cute-1.7; APD-2; Compass-1; Delfi-C3; SEEDS-2
???? - GSLV- Tauvex-2 + GSAT-4

Not real familiar with India's space program.  Wikipedia claims that the ISRO plans to launch a man in space by 2014, but can anyone tell me if this is a realistic timetable?  When do you see India launching its own manned orbital flight?

Launch of Insat 4-CR/GSLV is now planned for no erlier than November/December 2007. Since India possesses two launch sites and processing periodes between two launches have been in the range of about 5 months at least the following launch schedule seems feasible:

August 2007 Polaris/PSLV-CA (C-9)
October 2007 Oceansat 2 plus various secondary payloads/PSLV (C-10)
December 2007 Insat 4-CR/GSLV Mk-1(2) (C-1)
February/March 2008 Chandrayaan+MIP/PSLV-XL
April/May 2008 G-Sat 4 (Healthsat)+Tauvex-2/GSLV Mk-1(2) (C-2)
July/August 2008 RI-Sat 1/PSLV
September/October 2008 Insat 3-D/GSLV Mk-2 (D-3)

This would mean that Kalpana 2, ResourceSat 2 and Astrosat all slipped to 2009.

Well yes that is the plan apparently. You can check tthe sources @ the bottom of the wikipedia article and I have heard that the plan is 2014/15. They could do it as the GSLVIII has the launch capability (10T to leo) Whether they will is very different, but I suspect they will try to "keep up with the joneses" that is china.

The former ISRO chief claims India will be able to build an atmosphere across Mars without a problem and will soon be able to send half India's population there.

I wish them all the best in space, and their launch vehicle offers new opportunities. They may soon be working on a GSLV-3 and RLV. As for India beating NASA to Mars, it's nice talk but all 'pie in the sky'
I suspect it's more likely they will be hitching a ride on Shuttle, CEV or Soyuz for sometime to come.
