Chinese company cooperates with Oman to launch Oman's first artificial intelligence satellite

"Oman Daily" reported on May 17 that on the same day, China Dissat Space Technology Co., Ltd. and Sultan Qaboos University signed a cooperation agreement to send the first Oman artificial intelligence satellite into space.

According to the agreement, the artificial intelligence algorithm satellite will be launched by the end of June this year. Algorithms will work to identify shipping vessels in Omani waters to protect the Omani marine environment. The partnership agreement will provide students of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Sultan Qaboos University with hands-on experience in developing artificial intelligence algorithms that will be carried on board artificial intelligence satellites, enhanced by satellite remote sensing technology. The agreement is a milestone in the cooperation between Sultan Qaboos University and China in research and development, and the two parties will work together on the localization of advanced technologies in Oman.

There is about 10 days in June, I think there will be one launch rest at least.

Since you're estimating that the next Ceres-1 launch could take place in early July and speculating that the AI satellite built by Oman could be one of the payloads for this launch, the Omani AI satellite probably won't launch in the remainder of June.

The Omani AI satellite was not of two satellites launched aboard the Gushenxing-1 with serial number Y6.

As a side note, there is also a news report from May 17, 2023. about the forthcoming Omani AI satellite from the Muscat Daily:
