I remember seeing that the first flight wasn't expected until March on Twitter, I'd have to find that again.

It would surprise me a bit if they start the launch campaign for a brand new rocket before the New Year, there are only 25 days left for that.

I have seen, from at least one insider, regarding the satellite photos of ZK-1A taken earlier this month that it "isn't launching that soon". That person had a pretty well track record.

The June 21-26 zone is still active so maybe it's something else (likely SRB based launcher like CZ-11/KZ-1A/Ceres-1 as there's evidence of another Jiuquan launch June 25 that fits with a CZ-4 series launch).

Only 4 have been semiconfirmed. Information with Chinese launches is subject to changes without notice. As such nothing can be ruled without a payload manufacturer or operator or government official clearly stating otherwise.

This SY-01 (空间新技术试验卫星) should be the same as SATech-01, it might be one of six payloads.

The time came from the air space closure notice several replies above - but it's for the period of July 9 - July 14. No corresponding zones inside Chinese air space has been declared so with no other clues following up it's highly unlikely it will launch today.

It's also unclear if this is really for the ZK-1A - other launch vehicles options do exist, including perhaps another KZ-1A launch. There are just too few clues to declare which is which.

China launches six new satellites

JIUQUAN, July 27 (Xinhua) -- China on Wednesday sent six new satellites into space from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in northwest China.

The satellites, including a new space technology test satellite and a test satellite for probing atmospheric density, were launched by a Lijian-1 carrier rocket at 12:12 p.m. Beijing Time and entered the orbit successfully.

The Lijian-1 solid-propellant rocket was independently developed by the Chinese Academy of Sciences. The mission marked the first flight of Lijian-1.

At 12:12 on July 27, the world's first quantum micro-nano satellite "Jinan-1" was successfully launched on the "Lijian-1" carrier rocket at the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center. The "Jinan No. 1" micro-nano quantum satellite was led by Hefei National Laboratory, and was jointly developed by the University of Science and Technology of China, the Jinan Institute of Quantum Technology, the Institute of Microsatellite Innovation of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the Shanghai Institute of Technical Physics. With the support of the Jinan High-tech Zone Management Committee, the Jinan Institute of Quantum Technology is responsible for organizing the development of ground application systems, and as a user, it conducts the overall verification of quantum key distribution application technology.

The "Jinan-1" quantum micro-nano satellite is the second quantum communication satellite launched by China after the launch of the "Mozi" quantum science experimental satellite in 2016. Based on the research and development and experiments of the "Mozi" quantum science experimental satellite, the research team successfully tackled key technologies such as low-cost miniaturized quantum key distribution technology, real-time key extraction technology, etc. The nano-satellite platform is developed to reduce the weight to about 1/6 of the Micius, increase the frequency of the light source by about 6 times, and improve the timeliness of key generation by 2-3 orders of magnitude. With the miniaturized ground station system, real-time satellite-to-earth quantum can be completed. Key distribution experiment, and carry out technical verification and application promotion.

The successful launch and in-orbit operation of the "Jinan No. 1" quantum micro-nano satellite will be followed by a demonstration of commercialized wide-area quantum communication network applications through a miniaturized satellite ground station in Jinan, which will help my country expand its international presence in the field of space quantum communication. Leading position, realizing the leap-forward improvement of national information security and information technology level.

At 1:40 on August 16, 2016, my country successfully launched the world's first quantum science experimental satellite "Mozi" with the Long March 2D carrier rocket at the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center. Then humans completed quantum communication between satellites and the ground for the first time.
The Diguidao Liangzi Mishifenfa Shiyan (低轨道量子密钥分发试验) is also named Jinan-1 (济南一号).
