China to launch Einstein Probe in 2023 to observe violent cosmic events [dated Mar. 30]

Quote from: SpaceNews
A Chinese wide-field x-ray space observatory has passed a major review and is expected to launch next year to detect flashes from cataclysmic cosmic events.

The Einstein Probe is expected to launch around mid-2023 to observe distant, violent interactions such as tidal disruption events—in which stars are pulled apart by supermassive black holes—supernovae, and detect and localize the high-energy, electromagnetic counterparts to gravitational wave events.

A March 25 review session organized by the National Space Science Center (NSSC) under the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) approved the mission to proceed to the spacecraft assembly, integration and testing phase, ahead of an expected launch next year.

The roughly 1,400-kilogram spacecraft will be launched into a 600-kilometer altitude, low inclination orbit. From there it will observe the sky with a Wide-field X-ray Telescope (WXT) with a field of view of 3,600 square degrees, using cutting edge “lobster eye” optics to allow the probe to view X-ray events more widely than previously possible.

海南卫星星座如何实现“海南星、海南造、海南发、海南用”?
Quote
How does the Hainan Satellite Constellation realize "Hainan Star, Hainan-made, Hainan-made, Hainan-used"?

The project team plans to start the development of the remaining six satellites in the Hainan satellite constellation in the second half of this year (Hainan-1 03/04, Sanya-1 01/02 and Sansha-1 01/02), and plans to purchase rockets in Wenchang The launch of six satellites in low-inclination orbits plays an important role in further increasing the revisit period and coverage of the satellites to Hainan.
The Hainan-1 03/04, Sanya-1 01/02 and Sansha-1 01/02 will be launched from Wenchang in June-December.

Golden Bauhinia-Qilu Agricultural Satellite Constellation Construction Project Starts Ushering in Precision Agriculture Market Opportunities

The Golden Bauhinia-Qilu Agricultural Satellite Constellation (Phase I) project consists of 9 optical remote sensing satellites, including 1 experimental satellite and 8 operational satellites. The test star is a multispectral imaging satellite with a resolution of 1m and is scheduled to be launched in July 2022. The eight operational satellites are sub-meter multi-spectral imaging satellites with 8 spectral bands. The satellites are optimized for the red-edge spectral bands for agricultural applications. The corresponding spectral bands can be selected according to actual application requirements to complete image capture and data analysis. The comprehensive performance indicators and development cost of the business satellites will be significantly better than those of similar international satellites. According to the launch and deployment schedule of the first phase of the project, the eight business satellites will be launched at the end of 2022 to the first quarter of 2023.

"Active" attack, "Daqi-1" launched - Aerospace Science and Technology Group's development of atmospheric environment monitoring satellites revealed

Zhu Wei revealed that in the future, he also plans to launch the Daqi-2 satellite, a high-precision greenhouse gas comprehensive detection satellite. The detection can achieve the dual advantages of wide coverage and high precision, and further enhance the level of my country's space-based carbon monitoring capabilities.

The Atmospheric Environment Monitoring Satellite was successfully launched, and the synergistic effect of pollution reduction and carbon reduction added another weapon

The successful launch of the atmospheric environment monitoring satellite will provide important data support for the implementation of "precise pollution control, scientific pollution control, and law-based pollution control", support for in-depth pollution prevention and control, and achieve synergy in pollution reduction and carbon reduction. During the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, the Ministry of Ecology and Environment will also lead the development and launch of high-precision greenhouse gas comprehensive detection satellites, and network observations with atmospheric environment monitoring satellites to further improve the global remote sensing monitoring capabilities for major greenhouse gases and atmospheric pollutants. "Double carbon" strategy, to provide remote sensing monitoring data support to deal with global climate change.

High-precision greenhouse gas integrated detection satellite payload cloud and aerosol imager delivered

On December 3, the high-precision greenhouse gas integrated detection satellite payload developed by the Anhui Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics, Hefei Institute of Physical Science, Chinese Academy of Sciences, the cloud and aerosol imager (CAPC) prototype product, passed the Shanghai Aerospace Technology Research Institute ( The acceptance review organized by the Atmospheric Environment Project Office of the Eighth Academy of Aerospace Engineering. This is the first delivered payload on a high-precision greenhouse gas satellite.
The Daqi-2 will be launched before 2025, I think it might also be by CZ-4C from Taiyuan.

More than once a week! China Aerospace is planning to launch more than 60 times this year

"Space Lighting Dreams", today is the seventh "China Space Day". The reporter learned from the National Space Administration that in 2022, China's aerospace industry will continue to pursue its dreams. More than 60 launch missions are planned throughout the year, and the China Space Station will be completed. On-orbit construction, the fourth phase of the lunar exploration project, and the major mission of asteroid detection have officially started the project development, and the construction of China's aerospace powerhouse has started a new journey in an all-round way.

According to reports, the Chinese space station will complete the on-orbit construction this year, and plans to carry out six flight missions including the Tianzhou No. 4 and No. 5 cargo spacecraft, as well as the Wentian and Mengtian experimental modules. It will also launch space infrastructure satellites such as environmental monitoring satellites and Gaofen-01A satellites; start a series of construction tasks such as the demonstration of the National Laboratory for Deep Space Exploration; promote the construction of an international lunar scientific research station, and promote the construction of the BRICS remote sensing satellite constellation.

In the next five years, China Aerospace will adhere to the frontier of world aerospace development and the major strategic needs of national aerospace. First, the fourth phase of the lunar exploration project will be implemented, the "Chang'e 6" and "Chang'e 7" probes will be launched, the key technical breakthroughs of the "Chang'e 8" mission will be completed, and the construction of an international lunar scientific research station will be jointly carried out; second, the planetary exploration project will be launched Asteroid probe, completed near-Earth asteroid sampling and main-belt comet detection, completed key technical research such as Mars sampling return and Jupiter galaxy detection. The third is to promote the development of heavy-duty launch vehicles, and develop and launch a new generation of manned launch vehicles. The fourth is to build a near-Earth asteroid impact risk response system and improve the capacity of the space environment governance system.

According to reports, the fourth phase of the lunar exploration project has planned 4 missions. The first mission is the "Chang'e 4" that has been successfully implemented, and there are 3 follow-up missions, namely "Chang'e 6", "Chang'e 7" and "Chang'e 7". Chang'e 8". Among them, "Chang'e 6" mainly completes the sampling and return of the lunar polar region, and new lunar soil and new samples will be returned to the earth in the future; "Chang'e 7" mainly conducts scientific exploration of the lunar polar region, and completes high-precision landing and landing in the lunar polar region. The shadow crater leap detection, especially the detection of the water distribution of the moon; "Chang'e 8" will carry out scientific exploration in the polar region and verify the follow-up key technologies for the scientific research station.
The launching will be over 60 times this year.
