need feedback for idea
« on: 02/02/2025 10:07 am »
Hi guys,

Not sure if I'm posting in the right place so please don't get mad at me. Currently developing a website that tracks all rocket launches and in the future plan to build a website that helps people to invest in space industry.. if you don't mind would you be able to check the website out and give me feedback or ideas how can i improve it and what information, tools, functions you would like to see there.

You can find a website at nextspacelaunch.info

Thank you!

The site looks good, but I do have a couple questions.

I noticed that in the "past launches" they were all successful. (yay!) I assume that you also have a tag for "failed," but do you have a tag for a partial failure? Or were you just going to make it way easier and just have it be binary.

I love that there's a section for recent discoveries.

In the companies section, I'm guessing you only add a new company once they have launched? Correct me if I'm wrong.

All in all, it looks like a great start. If you haven't already, you may want to check out nextspaceflight.com to get ideas. It is a very similar setup to yours, but they did do a couple things differently.

Happy website building!
So this is how other people put stuff at the bottom of their posts!

Thank you so much for your input! really means a lot.

Good point with successful launches, i guess ill have to add more info to it like if only launch was a success or if cargo was deployed also. I will add more companies and their information as we go ahead. initially i want to have all companies there from all over the world with their news and future missions also.

Yes, someone also recommended me to visit nextpsaceflight.com for ideas, great website!

Thank you again KWC, much appreciated.

For those launches where there was an attempt to recover the booster you might also want to include the result of that attempt.

I appreciate the website and am confident it will evolve and improve as you receive information that requires distinct categorization. However, one significant shortcoming of this new site is the notification system. How will I be informed when new or noteworthy content is added? I suggest exploring a method for disseminating messages in a format that effectively engages your target audience; otherwise, your site may just fade into obscurity. Promote yourself on "X" and Bluesky to attract followers. Building an excellent archive and news site is worthless unless you also work to advertise it.

Additionally, it's advisable to include video links related to each new post and keep them for historical reference across all categories, such as news and discoveries. This will enhance the information about news, companies, discoveries, and the history of launches. These links may come from X, BlueSky, YouTube, other platforms, and your research view scanning the web.

You aim to be a comprehensive source for upcoming, recent, and historical aerospace news. Always ask yourself if there’s anything more I can add to enhance this. As always, we are here to guide and support you. Good luck.

Tony.

So at the moment a successful launch is deemed once the rocket lifts off for orbital launch and deploys the payload into correct orbit and the payload is fully functional after deployment. obviously looking forward to adding all kin of variations jus like you mentioned here. Thank you.

For SpaceX Falcon Launches (all of them), please don't point to "SpaceX YouTube" as SpaceX no longer posts them there but on Twitter. Only the Starlink launches are posted on YouTube for now. If you want to, change the link to either of these independent re-broadcasters:

https://www.youtube.com/@thespacedevs/videos

https://www.youtube.com/@Space-Affairs/streams

I was hoping you would update each launch with a specific video link instead of just the generic page, which would require us to search for it ourselves.

For Chinese launches, unless the company is providing a video link, use SciNews as an alternative source:

SciNews:  https://www.youtube.com/@SciNewsRo/videos

Tony

as an example, your most recent entry for a Falcon 9 mission (12-3) this morning

https://nextspacelaunch.info/launch/028d5699-11ea-4309-9266-5f9c2372219f

Under the Date of the Launch and next to the Status: "Successful". the YouTube Link should instead be the Twitter Link: https://x.com/i/broadcasts/1RDGlyAkPDgJL

Next, at the bottom of that page, Update the Live Stream box for this mission with the following:

SpaceX
Mission Replay:  https://youtube.com/watch?v=yAAlB1AQ7yY
Highlights:  https://youtube.com/watch?v=C0UXkYGevqA&t=6s

I or others covering these launches typically provide all the video links for every F9 launch in the NSF section threads for all F9 launches: https://forum.nasaspaceflight.com/index.php?board=55.0

Example for 12-3
https://forum.nasaspaceflight.com/index.php?topic=62061.msg2661873#msg2661873

For Blue Origin, point to the Live streams for their flights:
Generic: https://www.youtube.com/@blueorigin/streams
https://youtube.com/watch?v=l65LQcL2jUU

SciNews for the highlights:
Generic for search: https://youtube.com/@SciNewsRo/videos
Specific (example for NS-29):  : https://youtube.com/watch?v=_8AUjZGv9bE
