I found at the
Secret Projects Forum
a proposed General Dynamics design by Ed Heinemann for a suborbital airliner presented at a December 10, 1964 meeting of the Royal Aeronautical Society in London. Of course, Heinemann is best known as the man who designed the SBD Dauntless, TBD Devastator, SB2D/BTD Destroyer, XTB2D Skypirate, A-1 Skyraider, A2D Skyshark, A-3 Skywarrior, A-4 Skyhawk, F3D Skynight, F4D Skyray, and F5D Skylancer while chief designer at the El Segundo Division of Douglas, but he also worked for General Dynamics as Corporate Vice President of Engineering, assuming that post in 1962 two years after leaving the Douglas company.
