Wow.  Congrats to SpaceX, Elon and everyone else there.  What a historic accomplishment.  Great job.  Thanks to Chris, Chris, Steve, and the rest of NSF for the coverage.
Terminal count, I was holding my breath.  Liftoff, wow, omg it's happening.  Clears tower, wew.  Then it accelerated so quickly to maxQ, wew again.  Stage sep, wow/wew.
The double landing was sooooo epic, for the whole mission, this moment (unexpectedly) brought the biggest smile to my face.
Starman in space with earth in the background, wow.
TMI burn after the 5 hour loiter, awesome.  I was quite worried about this because it is much longer than normal.  Hopefully the telemetry from this burn provided some good data to improve reignite performance for the future, BFR, ect.

Wow, just wow.

It looks like the car isn't going all the way to the asteroid belt after all....

In an email to astronomers asking for orbital data, the final heliocentric orbit of the Roadster was reported to be:

Jonathan McDowell
@planet4589

Corrected orbital data for the Roadster: 0.99 x 1.71 AU x 1.1 deg
C3 = 12.0, passes orbit of Mars Jul 2018, aphelion November

The parameters can be found in the JPL Horizons system later.

Here is the raw data sent to me: the ECEF frame is a rotating frame fixed in the Earth.

Epoch: 2018-02-07 2:45:58.404 UTC

  r_ecef: [5075738.7305643, -7372945.23154559, -1357377.25] m

  v_ecef (inertial): [8757.81290879464, 928.17777417494, -4742.9287109375] m/s

  v_ecef (earth relative): [8220.16926362332, 558.049068842651, -4742.9287109375] m/s

  c3: 12.0017624322432 km^2/s^2

Converting this to a geocentric pseudo TLE I get:
1 43205U 18017A   18038.11525460 0.00000000 +00000-0 +00000-0 0    19
2 43205  28.8861 287.2645   1.2136511 145.3526     4.1483         1.4343638103

(this won't work in your software because I had to change the format a bit to handle eccentricity > 1, and your
code probably doesn't support hyperbolae)

An approximate conversion to a heliocentric orbit gives, again in pseudo TLE format:
1 43205U 18017A   18042.75000000 0.00000000 +00000-0 +00000-0 0    12
2 43205   1.1005 316.7766   0.2660772 179.3258     3.8202         0.0017491032

The numbers in this one will be a bit off because I skipped the step of precessing from J2017.1 to J2000.0,
but it should be moderately close.
The resulting orbit is as described in my tweet quoted above.
The asteroid fans will be looking out for it...

To all the hardworking people at SpaceX, current and past, who have ever contributed to this spectacular endeavor; to all the personnel at KSC and the range who worked this demonstration; to all the excellent folks who helped to document this spectacle, here at NSF and elsewhere; and to all the dreamers who threw in their support and watched, in person or remotely; congratulations!

I ruined my entire morning following the delays, sped to work, then hijacked my entire department, convincing them to stop everything for 10 minutes and watch this ludicrous beast take to the skies and beyond.

Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Also, SpaceX has updated the launch video with the correct footage from both side boosters.

I've just noticed this video has been removed and the edits folded back into the original stream. That is now at 14 million views and number 1 video on YouTube trending.

It has at least one more change - the flight milestone tracker is now opaque, in the first edit it was semi transparent and you could see the unedited video through it.

Revised heliocentric orbit using the JPL ephemeris is 0.986 x 1.667 AU x 1.05 deg.

Kepler's equation gives an orbital period of 1.528 years, which is very nearly 55/36, so Starman should pass close to Earth again in 55 years, after 36 orbits, assuming no perturbations.

It's also close to 26/17, so maybe a near pass in only 26 years.

Orbit estimates will be refined. Instructions: https://twitter.com/planet4589/status/961471102445850624

I took an extremely last minute road trip to watch this launch with my own eyes.  I left monday after work, drove through the night 14 hours (with a 1 hour nap at an I-95 rest area).  After the launch I was toast.  A night to sleep it off in a hotel, then 14 hours back home and at work again this morning.

Worth it.

Congratulations to everyone at SpaceX - It was definitely a long road to this moment!  It looks like the pad modifications for FH worked like a charm, the successful booster separation, and that 6 hour second stage coast too.  Sure, the center core didn't relight as hoped, but of all the things that could've gone wrong I have no doubts that THAT issue can be overcome.  This launch was a major success, and doesn't leave the skeptics much material to work with.

I want to express my thanks to the community here at NSF - the thread discussing where to spectate a launch was an immense help to me in seeing this launch on the fly.  Thank you Chris Bergin & the NSF web admins, who got the hampsters back on track when they needed help.  And thank you Chris G. for the regular updates during the launch window.  It helped immeasurably with the waiting, to know why there were delays in the countdown (and to keep my imagination in check!).

A few random impressions:

That double landing!  It was such a singular moment that I know I'll always remember vividly.

Was it just me, or did those boosters land MUCH more slowly (stately even!) than past landings?  Was that just my sleep-deprived brain?

Double sonic boom.  That was just plain bad-ass!

The second landing pad has now been christened!

I'm so glad EM & SpaceX decided to persevere with development on Falcon Heavy.  Despite all of the delays, and talk about it being a technological dead end because of BFR - this launch has given the company vast credibility.  Seeing is believing.

First stage landing & reuse - check.  Increased launch cadence - check.  Heavy lift capability - check.  The milestones are starting to add up, no?  *Edited to remove all the weird white space at the bottom*

FYI, this is the second camera feed in the SpaceX YouTube video that was posted post flight. You can toggle between the two and they stay in sync.
