It's a small satellite that will fit into Safir SLV.

Right. I got the Simorgh from skyrocket.de, but it will launch on Safir: https://www.tehrantimes.com/news/431638/Space-tech-development-won-t-wait-for-other-countries-minister . Adjusted the thread title.

According to satellite imagery in this tweet below we might also see a safir launch next month along with simorgh. Both launch pads at the imam khomeini space center are showing signs of activity.

Launch preparations are being made for a few weeks now.

Yesterday and on the throw
  #Satellitewatch with Jahromi @azarijahromi,
Defense Minister Hajizadeh, the satellite could not be placed in orbit.

The last month message failed to fail; the second failure after the massive suspension of Iran's space activities in the #Rouhani period or deliberate failures?
This message reflects my personal opinion based on open sources of information.

Does this means that Safir-1B failed to put Dosti into orbit? The translation is confusing.

Officials mentioning the launch, so at least it occurred.

Quote
Deputy Minister of Defense and Armed Forces Support added: "Thanks to Iranian scientists and the success of the divine, the satellite rocket launches on the ambassador last night, and launched a friendship satellite on the occasion of the decade of Fajr.

But what's the result? There's basically no other news regarding the launch except this minister's quote. Which is weird, because Iran admitted previous failure quite soon.

Is there some confirmation since your previous post?

Yes, from inside Iran.

No hint yet as to what stage in the launch things went wrong. (An on-pad explosion tends to leave a bigger
scar, but that's about all we can say right now.)  Maybe we can hope for a leak from the US intelligence side of things...

Edit:  Indeed, @nktpnd just reported a USG source says it failed shortly after launch.

Very nebulous. "It looks like it went up and probably just failed to insert the satellite into orbit" - but no indication why he thinks that it "probably failed". And then: "Schmerler says the rocket used in this latest launch attempt is probably smaller than the one used in January." Why probably - after Iranian newspapers wrote that it launches on Safir? Is he not sure if Safir is smaller than Simorgh?

Only rumours so far, not a single quotable source.

Can someone fix the spelling in the thread title? It should be Dousti.

Is there a standardized transliteration scheme for Persian?
If I understand properly, the correct spelling of the satellite is  دوستی

IRNA used Doosti and Tehran Times used Dousti, so there is some confusion. I've seen Dousti used more frequently. Looks like there are several methods for transliteration.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Romanization_of_Persian

Using their table gives

د d
و v or w
س s
ت t
ی j or y

This transliterator gives "dwsta"!

The first source that pointed the failed launch used Doosti. Why it 'should' be Dousti?

The second source says Dousti! In 2016, it was being called Dosti! Seems like there is no standard transliteration.
