Launch thread for the fourth Glonass-K satellite.

This should be satellite No. 16, launching from either Plesetsk LC 43/3 or 43/4.

If launch is successful, the satellite will receive a Kosmos designation.

Interesting news from the insurance conference: 1. This year, 3 launches of Glonass satellites: M No. 60 in March, K No. 15 in the 2nd quarter, K No. 16 at the end of the year. M No. 61 for operational necessity; 2. Launch of Glonass-K No. 15-23 in 2020-2022, Glonass-K2 No. 24 in 2023;

"Nearest Russian space launches: Glonass-K - end of August or beginning of September (according to RIA Novosti), three Gontsa-M with companions - September 29 (according to TASS)"

*Gontsa-M = Gonets-M

My guess: the 4th Glonass-K launch will be delayed beyond the 3rd quarter?

My bold; probably referring to this satellite:
Main points from this video:
* there are 9 Glonass-K in works;
* one of them passed all the tests and will be shipped to Plesetsk in near future;
* the other eight satellites are in various phases of manufacturing.
* at least one more sat is fully assembled and goes through tests.

ABOUT GLONASS SYSTEM
Next year the launches will be carried out on an operational basis, but two Glonass-K will definitely be launched, the second of which has a larger number of navigation signals, that is, this is an evolutionary development of the satellite. The launch of "Glonass-K2" is planned, and I am almost sure that the launch of the last "Glonass-M" will take place, because the resource of its ground storage will end by that time. Thus, approximately next year we have to launch four vehicles ...

FYI/cross-post; I'm guessing that we won't see this Glonass-K launch in June (the remainder of the second quarter):
https://ria.ru/20210607/sputnik-1735967122.html

Speaking during hearings at the State Duma today, Dmitri Rogozin has confirmed what has been obvious all along, namely that Western sanctions are having a major impact on the Russian launch schedule. "We have more than enough rockets, but nothing to place into orbit with them", he said. Many satellites are nearly fully assembled, but still awaiting electronic components that cannot be delivered due to the sanctions. Rogozin said that in the past three years Roscosmos has increased the production of domestic space-rated electronic components by 2.5 times. So far this does not seem to be having much effect though.

The statistics only confirm Rogozin's words. This year Russia has conducted just eight space launches, with only four of those carrying Russian-built payloads (Kosmos-2549, Progress MS-16, Arktika-M, Soyuz MS-18). There is a tremendous backlog of unlaunched satellites, including many high-priority payloads for the Ministry of Defense.

The source spoke about plans to expand the GLONASS system in 2021
03:31 18.06.2021

The source told about the expected replenishment of the orbital group of the GLONASS system in 2021

MOSCOW, June 18 - RIA Novosti. The orbital grouping of the Russian global navigation system GLONASS will be replenished with two or four satellites in 2021, a source in the rocket and space industry told RIA Novosti.
"They are preparing to launch (in 2021) from two to four devices," the source said.
According to him, it is planned to complete the production of the Glonass-K satellite with number 16 in July, but it will be launched only after testing a similar device with number 15 in orbit, which is scheduled to be completed in October.
The source did not rule out that the next satellite, which will be launched into space, will be the last "Glonass-M" with number 61.
He also said that the first Glonass-K2 satellite with number 13 could be launched before the New Year. In addition, according to him, Glonass-K with number 17 could go into orbit before the device with number 16, since it it is necessary to test a new on-board information and navigation complex, which allows emitting up to ten navigation signals.

Cross-posts; see GWR64's post regarding his observations disputing the interviewee's claim that Glonass is a fully operational system.

Any indications of progress?
according to launch calendar in NK forum no Glonass launch in 2021.

Tell us which satellites will join the GLONASS constellation in the near future?

- This year, our enterprise will complete the manufacture of three Glonass-K spacecraft, but their launch will be carried out only when necessary. Let me explain: 23 devices are currently operating in the GLONASS system, covering all the needs of customers. In addition, one device "Glonass-K" is in flight tests and will enter service in a few months. Accordingly, the need to launch a new satellite will come only after the failure of one of the spacecraft operating in space. This is the "operational necessity".

MOSCOW, 10 June. /TASS/. The Glonass-K satellite, intended for the development of the GLONASS orbital constellation, was delivered to the Plesetsk cosmodrome, the Siberian Sputnik newspaper of the Reshetnev ISS enterprise reported on Friday .

"At the enterprise, the Glonass-K spacecraft underwent a full cycle of ground tests, which confirmed the operability of its systems and build quality, readiness for service in the interests of consumers. Currently, its preparation for launch has begun at the Plesetsk cosmodrome," the report says.

At the moment, seven more Glonass-K satellites and two Glonass-K2 satellites are at different stages of production at the Reshetnev ISS satellite-building enterprise.

Now the GLONASS constellation includes 25 satellites, of which 22 are used for their intended purpose, three are temporarily withdrawn for maintenance. To cover the entire globe, 24 working vehicles are required.

Launch thread for the fourth Glonass-K satellite.

This should be satellite No. 16, launching from either Plesetsk LC 43/3 or 43/4.

According to the Russian Wiki - 43/4.
